    TC Energy recently announced the intention to separate our Liquids Pipelines business into two independent, publicly listed companies: TC Energy and South Bow. All new hires will remain employed by TC Energy until the separation is finalized.

    The Opportunity

    Our South Bow Controller team in Calgary is seeking an #EnergyProblemSolver to support Cost, Capital, and Shared Services for South Bow.

    Reporting to the Vice President and Controller, we are searching for an experienced accounting professional to fill the role of Manager, Cost, Capital, and Shared Services for South Bow. The successful candidate will oversee financial processes related to cost management, capital projects, and shared services. This individual should have strong accounting skills, team leadership experience, and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders across different functions to drive operational excellence and contribute to the success of South Bow's operations.

    This position offers an excellent opportunity for an accomplished accounting professional to take on a key leadership role.

    What You'll Do

    • Cost Management:
      • Review and approve short-term cost budgets, including variable tolls analysis.
      • Monitor cost variances and recommend corrective actions.
      • Collaborate with operational teams to optimize cost efficiency.
    • Asset Management:
      • Assist Asset Managers in overseeing fixed assets and leases.
      • Prepare and review accurate recording, depreciation, and impairment assessments.
      • Collaborate with Asset Managers to enhance asset utilization and value.
    • Capital Projects:
      • Ensure compliance with capital expenditure policies.
      • Review capital project approval decision summaries.
      • Assess project feasibility, risks, and financial impact.
    • Shared Services:
      • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
      • Provide support to Payroll and oversee cash application analysts.
      • Collaborate with finance, HR, and IT to streamline processes.
      • Monitor accounts receivable processes, working with Credit professionals on collections.
    • Team Leadership and Performance Management:
      • Lead a team of financial analysts and specialists.
      • Set performance goals, provide coaching, and conduct evaluations.
      • Foster a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • University degree in Business, Commerce, or related field.
    • Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
    • Minimum of 10+ years of progressive accounting experience.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
    • Experience with Workiva or other financial reporting applications.
    • Progressive experience in the North American energy sector.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Proven leader in managing teams and attracting top talent.
    • Self-motivated with a strong analytical skill set.
    • Ability to make informed decisions within established procedures.
    • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
    • Attention to detail and ability to work effectively under pressure.
    • Team player with the ability to work independently.
