About you and this role


Dow has an exciting opportunity for a North American Operations Early Career Program Manager located in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada.


Responsibilities:


As a North American Operations Early Career Program Manager at Dow, you will focus on delivering a World-Class Early Career Talent Management Program (Apprentices, Practicums, New College Graduates, National Student Program (Interns/Co-Ops), Local College Co-Ops, STEM Events, High School Career Fairs, & Diversity Conference Events)) for the Canadian Regions, with specific emphasis on Alberta Operations in support of the Path to Zero Project.


You'll share responsibility and accountability for the successful discovery, attraction, recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and development of Early Career talent to meet site, business, and functional people goals and needs.

You'll will work closely with Operations Leadership, Operations Learning & Talent Development, Human Resources, Students, and other key functional partners to optimize and coordinate programs consistent with Operation's Talent needs and strategy within the region.

You'll actively support the short and long-term strategy of the Early Career programs, including the oversight and coordination of various recruiting projects and initiatives using data-based analytics and decision making to formulate recommendations and actions to continuously improve key performance indicators.

You will be expected to lead in a manner that fosters an elevated level of integrity and strong client focus while embracing safety, inclusion, diversity, equity, innovation, sustainability, continuous improvement, and empowerment.


  • Leads the local coordination of all Canadian Early Career programs (New College Graduate, Coop, Practicum, Apprentice, etc.) and assembles Annual Total Workforce projections and requests for the region.
  • Accountable for the relationship management and Dow's brand at Canadian Universities and Technical Colleges. This includes leading Dow's Alberta Operations University and College Relationship teams.
  • Lead ID&E focus within Canadian Early Career activities. Including, but not limited to engagement with all of Dow's ERGs, identify and build/maintain relationships with key ID&E 3rd party organizations.
  • Build and maintain relationships as a single focal point within AB Ops for sourcing pools such as Careers, Women Building Futures, etc.
  • Identify support required from ABOLT, University and College Relations Teams, and/or ERG Teams to support various Early Career activities.
  • Lead Dow's apprenticeship program with support from other departmental and NA Early resources (ie: overall coordinator).
  • Active contributor to the NA Early Career Team, Alberta Operations Extended Leadership Network and the People Excellence team.
  • The single resource for new employees during their recruitment and early onboarding phase.
  • Enable other teams such as the University and Technical College Relationship teams to be highly effective.
  • Build a management system that selects the most impactful events for Dow to attend and then execute those events flawlessly including but not limited to Dow branding materials at location, logistics arranged in advance, etc.
  • Align the Canadian Early Career strategy with Operation's Global Early Career to achieve synergy and consistency with functional goals and objectives, including Total Workforce Strategy.

Qualifications:


  • Completion of Short-Cycle Tertiary Degree (i.e. Associate's Degree, Vocational Program) OR 4+ years of military experience OR In lieu of degree/military, 8 or more years of industrial/manufacturing experience or related experience required.
  • Demonstrated leadership/project management abilities.
