    Job Description

    The Civil & Structural Technical Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination of Roadworks, Retaining Walls, Finishing Works and Geotechnical design works. He/she will also co-manage Utilities Design with the Project Utilities Team. Work closely with Roadworks Construction Team, providing support for Roadworks, Retaining Walls, Finishing Works & Utilities based temporary works/detours as well as to achieve Road Safety Auditor approvals.

    Responsibilities:

    • Reports to Design Manager
    • Overall responsibility for the Roadworks, Retaining Wall, Finishing Works and Geotechnical design, including co-manage Utilities Design with Project Utilities Team.
    • Ensure design meets constructability requirements of Construction Team.
    • Attend design coordination and issues focused meetings with the Designers, Province and Stakeholders.
    • Review permanent and temporary works design with Construction Team and provide comments to Designers in a timely manner.
    • Review the submission against the Project Agreement in order to ensure the validity of the design.
    • Assist Design Manager in the commercial issues relating to Designers, Client, etc.
    • Mentor & guide junior engineers within the Project Team, especially within FCP Design Team
    • Support Technical Office Manager on Construction Phase Services (e.g. Shop Drawings, RFIs, NCRs), Temporary Works Design and Stakeholder Approvals.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Civil and structural design and construction knowledge is preferred.
    • Prior knowledge/experience in design and construction projects in British Columbia is preferred.
    • Good operational planning and time management skills; able to manage work without compromising on standards and quality.
    • Ability to work with colleagues to deliver project and operational performance.

    Special Conditions

    • Individuals may be required to travel within Canada and elsewhere as directed.
    • Positions, hence individuals, may be subject to relocation to projects and offices within Canada and elsewhere according to Acciona resource requirements

    Required Skills and Competencies

    • Bachelor's Degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering and/or Master preferred.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a design related role.
    • Preferably achieved BC P.Eng. status, but not mandatory.
    • Proficient in MS Office applications and AutoCAD. Experience in Aconex or similar project EDMS is preferred, but not mandatory.
    • Valid Canadian driving license.

    The compensation for this role will be based on individual skills and experience (annual base salary between $90,000 and $100,000 plus benefits)
