    About the Position:

    We are currently seeking dedicated and enthusiastic graduates/students to join us in the role of Personal Support Worker (PSW). We're thrilled to announce that we've been approved by Ontario Health to participate in the PSW Recruitment Initiative, an incentive program committed to attracting new PSW graduates to Long-Term Care and Home and Community Care. Consequently, there are vital criteria that applicants must meet to be considered for this position. Please review the following carefully before applying:

    • Successfully complete an Ontario PSW training program on or after April 1, 2023;
    • Commit to 12 months of employment at a full-time work schedule

    Summary:

    As a member of our team, you will play a crucial role in servicing the tenants within our building and seniors in the community. This is a fulltime position with 35 hours per week, offering either morning, evening, and overnight shifts with varying start and end times based on availability. The position starts as soon as possible and reports to the Coordinator of Support Services.

    Responsibilities:

    As a Personal Support Worker, your key activities will include:

    Service Delivery:

    • Work primarily with tenants of Momiji Senior Residence.
    • Provide occasional in-home support services to community clients through partnerships or our Momiji @ Home program.
    • Assist clients with daily living activities, including toileting, dressing, bathing, transferring, medication reminders, meal preparation, and more.
    • Observe and communicate any concerns or changes in client behavior or health status to the supervisor.
    • Respond to emergencies.

    Administrative Duties:

    • Assist with documentation, scheduling, and record maintenance.
    • Meet annual learning requirements through our internal training program.

    • Manage your time effectively and maintain a high level of accuracy.
    • Demonstrate sound judgment, particularly in emergency situations.

    Key Requirements:

    • Experience providing services to seniors is an asset.
    • Effective communication skills in English (Japanese language skills are a plus).
    • Familiarity with computers (email, Excel, online training).
    • Ability to stand, walk, lift, and bend for extended periods.

    Certificates Required:

    • Valid PSW training program certificate.
    • Police Vulnerable Sector Check completed in the last 6 months.
    • Current First Aid/CPR certificate.
    • Mask Fitting Test.
    • Hep B Immunization, TB test, and immunization record.
