About this Job
Lakehead University, Thunder Bay Campus, invites applications for Clinical Instructors in the Faculty of Health and Behavioural Sciences/School of Nursing. Positions will commence on variable dates across each year level of the program.
Job Duties
Duties include and are not limited to providing orientation for students, maintaining a current knowledge base to support learning, embodying professional nursing practice standards, supporting students to evolve in their professional nursing practice, involving students in the continuous evaluation of their practice, developing supportive peer relationships to support clinical practice, developing knowledge and skills required to evaluate each student's ability to meet course objectives effectively.
The School of Nursing has offered undergraduate degrees in nursing since 1965 and has over 700 undergraduate students, including those enrolled in a Compressed 3-year BScN and a 4-year BScN.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have an unrestricted RN license with the College of Nurses of Ontario and have more than two years of acute care nursing experience. Preferred candidates will have previous baccalaureate clinical teaching experience, more than five years of clinical nursing experience, and have a BScN degree or equivalent. Applications from individuals specializing in older adult care, maternal/infant health, paediatric nursing, mental health, community care nursing, or medical/surgical nursing are particularly sought. Experience with experiential learning using simulation and online or alternative modes of course delivery is highly desired.
