***As our Collections Administrator at Meridian OneCap, you get to effectively handle documentation, reporting and administration requirements and support Collections and Asset Management in a quick and efficient manner.


You are accountable to provide centralized moderate and complex administration support to the Credit Recovery Team dealing with the collection of delinquent accounts and realization of security.


Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
Provide administrative services and support to the credit and collections team by:

  • The Collections Administrator is responsible for providing administrative support to the collections team including preparation of all reporting requirements and for the collections department.
  • Review and provide information on Ad-Hoc reports prepared as requested by Manager
  • Prepare collections letters according to provincial and federal legislation and internal policies.
  • Prepare and maintain the collector's worklists.
  • Handle the assumption and rewrite requests.
  • Manage the NSF list and assign to collectors as needed
  • Prepare files for the Loss Recovery team to forward to lawyers
  • Assign and maintain files assign to 3rd party collection agency
  • Review and maintain relevant procedures and training manuals.
  • Back up the Collections Representatives when required.
  • Assistant to floorplan administrator in Credit
  • Assist credit department when required

  • Continuously search for new and better ways to process work that eliminate wasted time and effort.
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment with peers and colleagues throughout the collection process by sharing best practices

Functional competencies:

  • Strong verbal communication skills, good voice tone, and the ability to articulate on the phone.
  • Must have the ability to handle multiple priorities and interact with Staff, Internal Departments and 3rd parties with tact and diplomacy while maintaining ultimate confidentiality
  • High level of competence in using various PCs and related software.
  • Strong written communication skills and excellent alphanumeric skills.
  • Good organization and time management skills to handle multiple interruptions and adjustments to priorities throughout the day.
  • Effective customer service skills and able to interact with all levels of staff.
  • Works well under pressure and maintains a calm focus during hectic periods.
  • Exhibits a professional attitude and image with a commitment to quality service
  • Demonstrate a willingness to assume higher degrees of accountability and responsibility within the collection process.

Knowledge, Skills Abilities

  • High school diploma Postsecondary education and/or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated work experience with office practices, customer service and communication.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good understanding of basic bookkeeping principles.
  • Proven ability to work independently and accurately within strict timeframes.
  • Capacity to manage and carry out multiple tasks and priorities in a demanding environment.
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills conducive to a team environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills, problem solving & time management ability, and a commitment to a high degree of accuracy.
  • Demonstrates creativity in developing and streamlining internal procedures and processes.
  • Demonstrates Meridian values through leadership and behaviour.
  • Positive team player, flexible in nature.
  • Commitment to values and service excellence.
  • Bilingual in French and English, is an asset.
  • Previous collections experience an asset
