    Description
    Family Medicine Physician with Anesthesia - Red Deer

    Alberta Health Services, Central Zone, is actively recruiting a Family Medicine Physician with Anesthesia in the community of Red Deer.

    This position requires a scope of practice that includes:

    providing a comprehensive range of Anesthesia services for both scheduled and emergency surgeries including ENT, ophthalmology, plastics, orthopedics, urology, general surgery, dental and obstetrics/gynecology and pediatric patients.

    Participation in on call roster is required. Coverage of both scheduled and non-scheduled obstetrics will also be required. Pre-operative consultations in pre-admission clinic would be required.
    Responsibilities include but not limited to:
    Reside in and have as their primary residence within the community of Red Deer;
    Obtain and maintain an AHS Medical Staff Appointment and appropriate privileges to provide the Services;
    Provide call assistance as per call schedules, including participation in the Anesthesia call schedule, as required;
    Abide by the AHS Medical Staff Bylaws, the AHS Medical Staff Rules and AHS policies;
    Participate in quality improvement programs and initiatives undertaken within the Department of Family Medicine;
    Participate in relevant Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs;
    Contribute to and participate in other administrative responsibilities, as assigned;
    Work collaboratively with peers and care team colleagues in support of patient care

    Have or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (required with application);
    Have or be eligible for licensure with the College of Family Physicians – Family Practice Anesthesia (CCFP-FPA), or equivalent;
    Recent and relevant experience in all areas of practice required ;
