Victoria Village is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Food Service and Environmental Supervisor to join our team. This leadership role will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Public health standards, Ministry of Health and Long Term Care (MOHLTC), as well as environmental regulations. This role requires strong supervisory skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently, and as well as a team.


Duties:


  • Develops and sustains operational plans for the effective operation of the Dietary and Housekeeping departments;
  • Conduct environmental and Food Services audits and inspections to identify areas of improvement
  • Maintains records of audits, project work, inventories of supplies, equipment, and replacement parts;
  • Monitor and analyze Dietary and Environmental data to assess compliance with regulations
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to develop and implement sustainability initiatives
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on organizational best practices
  • Plans, coordinates, directs and monitors the effectiveness of all operational activities within the Housekeeping and Dietary departments;
  • Participates in organizational committees; (example: IPAC committee, Resident Council Meetings)
  • Promotes a positive working environment with the service providers working with the Home; Establishes and maintains positive communication between the Home and the community and suppliers;
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation for regulatory agencies

Skills:


  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and best practices
  • Strong knowledge of Public Health, Ministry of Health and LTC legislation and regulations
  • Detailoriented with strong organizational skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in using computer software, including Microsoft Office Suite

Requirements:


  • Must possess certification as Food Service Supervisor/Nutrition Manager from a recognized governing body;
  • Shift Supervisor experience that requires knowledge of methods, techniques, work process and procedures;
  • Must possess current membership in the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management; Demonstrated experience in large quantity food preparation, financial planning, and food purchasing; Must be knowledgeable of nutritional needs of the residents in a LTC home;
  • Must be knowledgeable of the relevant sections of the Long-Term Care Homes Act and regulations 2007 and OH&S Act;
  • Knowledge of current best practice standards in housekeeping and laundry operations and systems; Computer skills including Excel/Word/Outlook;
  • Demonstrated expertise in catering for LTC environment; Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.

Pay:
$25.50-$28.05 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
