- Responsible for sourcing, negotiation, contract management and supplier relationship management;
- Coordinate the activities of buyers both inside and outside sales related employees involved in purchasing materials, products, and services;
- Establish and implement department and team's objectives and priorities to align with and support the business goals, promoting collaboration and coordination of procurement activities with key stakeholders;
- Oversee and supervise employees, directing day-to-day activities, as well as looking after recruitment, training and development, to ensure a high standard of service delivery;
- Lead the development and implementation of sourcing strategies to achieve forecasted MRO budget;
- Conduct assessment of current state and future requirements, analyze market trends and potential suppliers, and identify processes for continuous improvement;
- Develop long range supply chain and pricing strategies;
- Lead cost reduction initiatives and ensure that effective control measures are in place to address purchase prices variances;
- Generate direct savings by developing and sourcing strategies which will enable cost reduction while ensuring that user needs are met;
- Provide input and recommendations for the development and implementation of processes and procedures aimed at supporting the departmental vision for Procurement and strategic Supply Chain;
- Responsible to develop and manage the requests for proposals (RFPs);
- Negotiate and establish vendor volume rebate agreements;
- Ensure that all Customs matters are handled quickly and efficiently;
- Act as first line of escalation for buyer issues related to internal support, parts procurement and supplier performance.
- Certificate or bachelor's degree in supply chain/ purchasing, operations management, business administration, or any other related field is preferred;
- Minimum of seven (8) years of experience in purchasing, procurement and strategic sourcing, including the development of business strategies or equivalent;
- Experience in MRO purchasing is considered an asset;
- Previous experience in aerospace, airline operations, corporate aviation industry, including detailed knowledge of modern aircraft;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and understand business practices, elicit and define requirements, and identify appropriate solutions and options;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with various audiences;Excellent negotiation skills;
- Sound operational and tactical decision making skills;
- Proven ability to effectively plan, prioritize, document and implement sequential completion of tasks and processes to minimize revenue loss;
- Demonstrated ability to build internal customers/external suppliers relationships to optimize operational performance and process improvement;
- Superior customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization;
- Strong leadership and influencing skills;
- Strong mentoring and coaching skills being able to train and develop subordinate's skills;
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities simultaneously;
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, Word, Excel, Inventory and ERP systems.

The Director, Procurement will be responsible to successfully lead procurement activities, by ensuring that business objectives are met and exceeded in terms of scope of service, quality standards, risk mitigation, delivery timing and cost.
