  • Job SummaryThe Ministry of Forests is responsible for the stewardship of provincial Crown land and ensures the sustainable management of forest, wildlife, water and other landbased resources. The Ministry works with Indigenous and rural communities to strengthen and diversify their economies.


The Policy Analyst independently manages assigned policy development projects to ensure the management of land and resources is fair, efficient, coordinated and transparent.

The focus of these natural resource sector projects are on programs or legislation specifically related to the Land Act; Ministry of Lands, Parks and Housing Act; Motor Vehicle (All Terrain) Act, Land Title Act; Land Title and Survey Authority Act; Land Survey Act and the Private Managed Forest Land Act.

Projects also support the ministry's Data Custodianship responsibilities for the Crown Land Registry and its electronic implementation through Crown land systems (i.e., Tantalis).


Job Requirements:


  • Undergraduate Degree or higher related to the natural resource sector, law, economics, business or public administration; OR
  • Diploma related to the natural resource sector, law, economics, business, real estate, land appraisal or public administration and a minimum of two (2) year's practical experience with direct involvement in researching policy issues, conducting policy analysis and managing components of projects/studies; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.
Preference may be given to applicants with the following:

  • At least two (2) years of full-time work experience in research and policy analysis, or project management in natural resources.
  • Experience in dealing with complex issues pertaining to a wide variety of stakeholders.

About this Position:

This position can be based in any Ministry of Forests office.
