Couch Potato Chronicles Mini Review -- Mr Robot

Couch Potato Chronicles Mini Review -- Mr Robot

Highly Opinionated Reviews
(TV eMovies Books Sportssetc)

www.bebee.com SThis is an extremely topical, well put together and completely depressing series that started last year
It won a lot of awards, including a Peabody, probably because there really were a lot of crap shows on TV.
I really can’t recall, off the top of my head, too many new series that I was actually blown away with, outside of Blindspot & Lucifer.
Anyway…Mr Robot explores the world of computer hacking through the (mis)adventures of a highly introverted social misfit ironically named Elliot (which I am sure was an homage to Steven Spielberg).

Elliot gets recruited by some sort of hacker group headed up by Christian Slater, (Mr Robot) who has always seemed to look about the same age for the last twenty years.
This series made a pretty powerful statement about cyber culture and the world’s dependence on it and vulnerability within it.

Tonight after the Blue Jays whomped the Tigers, I watched the teaser show for season 2.
It was all done with sinister music and one of those flat droney narrations that somehow signify that there could definitely be the kind of skullduggery you might be interested in coming up starting next week on either Showcase or Bravo. I’m always getting them mixed up.
This stuff is very interesting, mainly because it’s so plugged into where we are as a culture these days. It sort of feels like sci-fi, but it really isn’t. What it is is relevant fiction on TV. Or maybe not so fictional

RATING: (2 Spuds in Advance, because season 1 was great) Worth checking out.
