Physical Intelligence - Day 45

A mix up due to half listening lost me Day 45 and there is an accompanying lesson in that.  Yesterday I had reviewed a recommendation by Sara Jacobovici and promptly decided that the thinker she was recommending was a book that I need to read now.  As I was focused on that one of our boys asked me a question, which I thought was "Can we go watch Guardians of the Galaxy 2?" which is one of the hit movies playing right now at a local theatre.  What he actually asked was "Do you want to watch Guardians of The Galaxy 2?".  I replied "Yes - I heard its an entertaining movie". 

Today, our kids were surprised that I was not ready, and I asked ready for what - to which they replied "did you forget, you said you are going to see the movie".  With the tickets all paid and the whole bunch of them looking forward to seeing the movie, the lesson I learned is one of listening and while this was not an Earth-shattering request - the fact that I did not pay attention to what was actually being said is one big lesson, as is the accompanying domino effect of what are always best laid plans, and one of them was going to the gym.

Having reached the half-way point, this mix up is probably a good one, because I can relax and chill today and then look forward to making vast improvements to the final 45 days of this log.  This time last year I was comparing my efforts to the fortunes (good but not great) of my soccer team.  Tomorrow I know that there is going to be no mix up because when Tottenham play at Leicester City I will be mirroring the match with two 45 minute sessions in the gym.  I will also begin to read the book I obtained "Awareness Through Movement".  Today the lesson was simply "Awareness Through Better Listening". 

The irony today is that I am having to squeeze this log in because we are going to watch a movie that I inadvertently said yes to.  For sure it messed up what I had planned to do, but that is life, as John Lennon so poignantly sings in "Beautiful Boy" - "
