Physical Intelligence - Day 9

Physical Intelligence - Day 9

Day 09 Physical

Intelligence

I took the more reflective route today.  No TV, no videos, no music, no books, just thoughts to reflect on what was rather an unusual day, one which I remained awake to 5:40am.  That is one of the two habits I still need to work

SLEEP

SUGAR

It does not help that I helped myself to choc bars and rice marshmallow bars as a snacking choice.  This on top of a diet that can do with a greater reduction of sugar digestion.

Where I did well today is that I did not procrastinate.  In a busy day, there was a small window for gym and took it and that is a habit that needs to be cultivated, because this is coming up against a force that everyone battles with.  To procrastinate or not to procrastinate is the question?

There is also the recurring element of tea.  I can't drink it black or green because I have not acquired the taste for sugarless and milk-less tea.  Not adding milk apparently brings out the nutrient benefits of tea, so every time I do, that is what I lose.

Things emerged yesterday in ways that I did not expect and today I get to "breath" my thoughts as I try to make sense of those inputs.  The Seve input was precious, whereas there was some personal stuff which was unexpected but not unpredictable.  Today was a measured but thoughtful day but I am on track with broader physical intelligence goals, which is a good thing.

The key message from last year that resonates today is "it is not physical intelligence to create physical chaos".  One year on and a part of that lesson has yet to sink in.  Yesterday there was physical emergence also, and on that score I am glad to have come across a movie about Seve.

LOG Day 9.0f 90 - 10th Apr 2016

| was very close not engaging in any exercise because time had reached past 9pm, but then | got
on the treadmill and 72 minutes later when | had finished the book | was reading, | got off.

While | have accomplished the physical goal for the day, yet again | did not consciously plan for it,
other than unconsciously leave it to the last possible moment - so that is my dislike of exercise

kicking in.

The good news is that the “The Joy of x™ book | am reading is the first book | have read this year
cover to cover. The problem with reading though is still that | am having to walk rather than push
to the next limit - so it is sweat without the tiny increments of pressure that equal growing pains.

Much worse is that the time has gone past midnight and | will now have less than 5 hours sleep
before | have to get up to tomorrow, and the next two days | do not have to worry about gym that
much because | am engaging 2 days of physical work.

The disruption to sleep and the lack of conscious planning are however two re-occurring issues -
and they are indeed issues because it is disrupting the planned regiments of others in the home
and having finished exercise late, the actual reading | am engaged in is leaving me thinking more,
rather than signalling to my body that it is time to wind down.

That added level of “interesting reading” is not the kind of mundane activity that would send me
to sleep - and the net result is that my mind is more awakened at exactly the wrong time of the
day.

An hour after exercise | personally also start to get thirsty from the water | have lost through
sweating - so | take two or three trips to drink glass fulls of water. This is recipe for creating avoid-
able chaos - and while it is good that | am focused on improving physical intelligence, it is not
physical intelligence to create physical chaos. Over the next week, this is an area | need to im-
prove and start realizing as an unhelpful habit.

| also thought about postponing this log but that is simply a symptom of my choices and there is
nothing good that comes out of adding to tomorrow, that which we should have done in ample
time today. Now finally I can go to bed.

Good one CityVP Manjit, “it is not physical intelligence to create physical chaos.” Good for
you that you continued the routine to log in spite of the fact that you thought about post-
poning.
