The Wall

Since then literally thousands of writers and group owners gave up on LinkedIn and moved their activities to beBee.com.
They weren’t sad about what they were leaving behind, because it really wasn’t much at all. LinkedIn saw to that.
But there are thousands, maybe even millions more who are handing in, either wondering what happened, or just afraid that they will be somehow abandoning their networks.
I’m here to to tell you that moving your activities to beBee and linking all your posts pack to LI is a much more effective way to keep your network aware of you than posting on Pulse. And a rather large number of people who are used to doing the math of stuff like this agree with me.
The Wall (June 25, 2016)
This could very well be my last post here on LI Pulse. I will not return until LinkedIn changes their algorithm to allow all my followers to be notified when I publish a post here. I worked hard to build my following and am seriously pissed that LinkedIn has decided to re-neg on their original promise to provide notifications. Maybe in the greater scheme of things this doesn’t mean much to the world at large But it means a lot to me.
*******************
This is the wall.
It was built by the Mighty Hamsters of The Lumpy Kingdom aka LinkedIn.
It has one purpose from my point of view. It’s built to keep me and my followers on LinkedIn separated from each other.
The wall, as you can see, is very high. It’s also very long. Miles and miles. In fact, it stretches right around my LinkedIn world.
The wall is relatively new. It was built over the last year.
It wasn’t very big at first. You could hop over it with a certain type of post, because some of your followers would get notified. But many others would not.
As time went by, the wall grew bigger. And it went from being easy to hop over to virtually impossible. It’s a hell of a wall.
When the wall was finished, and my followers and I were completely separated, I started getting messages from other writers I know.“Please read my post and share it.” “My followers and no longer being notified.” And my personal favorite “This sucks.”
A wall this big will fuck up you.
You can’t drill through it because it’s too thick. And you can’t climb it, because it’s impossible to actually even see the top of it. In point of fact all you can do is bang your head against it. And that’s not something I’m prepared to do.
There are still quite a few writers here in The Lumpy Kingdom standing around looking at the wall. They’re shouting at it. They’re staring hard at it trying to figure out if there’s any way to get to the other side, where all their followers are waiting.
But alas. It’s hopeless.
There really is no point to blogging here any longer. Because that would mean a lot of head banging that I’m just not willing to do.
But all is not lost, because I have moved my blogging tent to be bee.com. A completely wall challenged-blogging environment.
A lot of my followers are finding me there. I hope you will too.
And for all of you writers and group owners on LinkedIn who are dealing with walls of your own, this is an invitation to trying to figure out a way to conquer the wall, and just let it go.
Get yourself established on beBee and leave the walled off world behind. I did, and I have nothing but good things to say about the decision.
Judging from all the positive response I’m seeing from recent LI refugees, I can safely say you will very quickly end up having good things to say about your beBee experience too.

I only reposted this for Peter Luria on LI who wanted to know why I left. I didn't get all the details right. But it's freakin' Saturday and I didn't feel like recounting the whole thing.
