“Why are you so Fucking Happy?!”

“Why are you so Fucking Happy?!”

changed all my passwords to “incorrect”.

   I get this question a LOT. Like there’s a problem with it. (?)

   Yes I’m generally a happy person, very happy as a matter of fact so I do get this question daily. I have numerous pat answers, all true, at my disposal and issue them out depending on my mood, (I guess, I honestly never really thought about it until I started writing this). One of my favorites is,

“Well I woke up alive today”

   Not much to be said about that is there?

Joe: | hid all the pens from Trump
Obama: Why?

Joe: Because he bringing his own.
Obama: 7???

Joe: HE'S BRINGING HIS OWN PENCE

Another answer that I use, especially if I feel like having a discussion is,

“Well things could be worse, I could be Donald Trump”

Please don’t misunderstand, I’m not “down” on the guy, he has my sympathy. In my opinion he’s not very enlightened and has some very mixed up priorities, maybe one day he’ll learn, or it may take a few lifetimes but that is his burden to bear, and I certainly would not wish that kind of burden on anyone. The point is I’m just glad that I’m not him.

Karma, I believe in Karma.

Trump: The less immigrants we let in,
the better.
Pence: The fewer.
Trump: Shhh, don't call me that in public yet.

| EE.

   You can replace “The Donald” with any abrasive Asshole    you like in this response, depending on your mood. Again I  would like to clarify that I’m not down on Assholes either.  Everyone’s an Asshole, myself especially included. That  was a profound and revelating day when I looked in the  mirror and came to this realization, but it’s true. A real blow  to my ego but seriously I battle my ego daily, terrible  burden to be encumbered with but I always say that  “Recognition” is the first step towards understanding  something and rectifying it if need be. I have to admit that  this revelation propelled me dramatically towards a  “happier” state of mind.

       I would like to point out here that in our “Politically    Correct” charged times, (Oh God bless us, every one.    Maybe the madness will end soon), “Asshole” is a relatively   safe term to use, it is not racist, sexist, or exhibits bigotry    in  any way, no one can take offence because, and I repeat,  everyone is one.(And if you’re reacting to this sentiment  then you’re just a bigger one than the rest of us, get over it).

A group of dads had a competition to
see who could stack the most Cheerios
on their kid

Here’s an answer that really confuses sometimes, depending on the weather but again I am sincere in this sentiment as it is a beautiful world that we live in,

“It’s a beautiful day out today”

It could be -40, blizzard conditions, or thunder storms with pouring rain, or HOT, whatever, but whatever it is I appreciate it, there’s certainly nothing I can do about it anyway, (maybe this goes back to the point of “waking up alive”).

I have all kinds of answers to “the question”, all of them sincere and all of them true but I think you understand the point;

It’s all a matter of Perspective.

Yes there are a lot of problems in the world, Yes we all have personal issues that we are dealing with on a daily basis; here’s the point; We ALL are in the same boat.

    Most people respond to me positively but there are a few that don’t. I can see it in their eyes and hear the tone in their voice when they ask;

“Why are you so Fucking Happy?!”

Their indignant tone accuses me of, “How dare you!” This just makes me smile even more. I’m sorry if I don’t jump on your “bandwagon” of misery, whining and complaints, I really am, I just don’t have time for it in my life right now, but if that ever changes I will get back to you.

Maybe I’m becoming wiser as I advance in years, maybe I’m getting senile, it doesn’t really matter but I seem to be getting happier as time goes by. Possibly I’ve lost my mind and having said that it could be argued that I’m probably better off without it in this day and age but that is a topic better left for another day. Maybe it’s appreciation, I’m counting my blessings daily and why shouldn’t I? Why should anyone not count their blessings?

| am no cook. But | can follow the
directions. Which said to let the bird chill
in the sink for a few hours.

   Speaking of perspectives here’s an excerpt from another article that may give some more insight, I’m discussing “Death”; here’s the cold reality and one of the rare things that I can state irrefutably, 100%, absolutely NO argument against it. We’re ALL going to die, sooner or later but we don’t know when;

   “A few of the basic premises of Don Juan’s teachings discuss the subject of Death. As morbid as this sounds it is a reality, absolutely no escape so as Don Juan says, “use that knowledge to your advantage”, use death as your advisor, when taken in this context everything else becomes equal, mundane, and unimportant especially your personal issues and problems. He goes on to say that you should perform every act as if it your “last stand on earth”, (which is a definite possibility), in this frame of mind you will probably perform as best as you can, this frame of mind cuts all the crap, you will be inclined to behave more “impeccably”. Not knowing when you’re going to die is a mystery for everyone but think about this, when you do “go” do you want to be mad, upset, depressed, unhappy? Do you want to have those crappy feelings inside you, take them to the grave with you? Or do you want to behave “impeccably”, trying to cut the crap, trying to perform to your potential, trying to “go out with a bang”, your spirit shining because your fighting your “last stand on earth “to the best of your ability, you’ve accepted the fact that you are going to go so you might as well do it in the best way that you can.”

I might be dead in the next 5 minutes; You might be dead in the next 5 minutes, are you going to waste that precious time being perturbed with me because I'm Happy? LMFAO!!!

Biden: Showed Trump the drone strike
controls in your top desk drawer

Obama: That's an Etch-A-Sketch

Biden: Yup

   Here’s another excerpt from the same article;

   “Anxiety is caused by the discrepancy between our perceptions/expectations of what we think reality should be, and what reality actually is”.

Having accepted this premise you now have the choice of how to rectify it. Something needs to change and you need to change it. Your choices are to either change your perceptions or change reality. Can you change reality? Absolutely not, so your only choice is to change your perception, which is the only way to get relief.”

   I read an interesting article yesterday by Geoff Hudson-Searle titled, “Can we truly renew ourselves?” I believe that we can, this is the comment that I left;

“Great post @Geoff Hudson-Searle Wonderful message. The "renewing" is very important, every moment that we have is a new opportunity to not only improve and strive to be better but it is another chance for us to be happy and joyful.

Think about every breath that we take, as we take that breath we are "renewing" ourselves, bringing in fresh new energy, releasing old unwanted "baggage"; every breath that we take is a "renewing".

https://www.bebee.com/producer/@geoff-hudson-searle/can-we-truly-renew-ourselves

    A human being will take approx. 672,768,000 breaths by the time they reach 80 years old, each one of those breaths is a “renewing”, each one an opportunity to change, to be happy. You just have to concentrate on the “breath of the moment”, feel it coming inside of you, energizing you, “renewing” you. Here is a sentiment that has been relayed and communicated in many different ways and I like this particular rendition,

“Regret for the past and anxiety for the future are the 2 thieves that rob you of the present”

87510a0d.jpg

   Don’t worry about the “breaths “ you’ve already taken, they’re gone, don’t worry about “where your next breath is coming from”, concentrate on your inhalation right now, appreciate it for what it is, rejoice and be HAPPY in the magic that is happening at this very moment.

      (Concentrating on one’s breathing is an effective technique for meditation)

      I talk about Karma and if I can make just 1 person smile and/or laugh throughout my day then I feel like I’ve accomplished something. I think good Karma is to spread the joy. I have to mention Ian Weinberg as I thoroughly enjoy my interactions with him due to his “mindfulness” of “making something better than what it was before engaging with it”, (direct quote from Ian), I agree 100% and I behave this way. This post is a good example, If I can make just 1 person smile and/or laugh from this then that’s ALL that matters. I can be criticized, crucified, ridiculed, whatever from everyone else but I’ve reached 1 person, that’s good Karma. That makes me happy. Can you imagine if each one of us could just reach 1 person?

   So what’s the point I’m trying to reach with this tirade?

   It was yesterday when I walked into work with my usual big “shit eating grin” and a happy “Good Morning!” to all that I met when the “Antagonist” zeroed in on me and Bang! “The Question”.

   “Why are you so fucking happy?!”

   In a rare existential moment my intellect stepped back, my soul “shivered” and I felt my spirit spread its wings. I became an “Observer” and witnessed the nebulous untouchable aspects of myself step forward and vocalize my deepest feelings. My voice was calm and low, full of love and the 5 simple words that I uttered, having never thought of or said this response before, stopped the “Antagonist” in his tracks. I said,

“Because I choose to be”

“Happy Cooking Everyone”

Wonderful post, I can not be more in agreement with you. I get it quite a lot too, (why are you so happy?) My inner answer is the same than yours: because I choose to be. it is really a choice, and one needs, many times, to struggle to keep it going. To the ones who ask it almost in the way of "how you dare?, I use to answer, how dare you not? Iwrote two posts in your same line of thinking, but I failed to do it as nice as you. Here they are, in case you wanna have a look https://www.bebee.com/producer/@david-navarro-lopez/las-bendiciones-de-ser-un-idiota https://www.bebee.com/producer/@david-navarro-lopez/game-over-are-we-ready-to-die

This big-ass slice of happiness I missed first time 'round Randall Burns and I have gotta say it makes me sick that you clearly suffer from an overblown sense of joy sans life-threatening events [See: https://www.bebee.com/producer/@randall-burns/tales-from-paradise-the-poem-chapter-3#c13 near 1.5 years back]. What an hysterical buzz (something any Chef should know), pass the doobie :) You have no idea just how feckin' lucky you are! So I guess this means you are happy. I was just talking to someone today about America and postulated that probably the majority of people there are happy. I mean, why not. I went have lunch with someone in Buffalo on a Fucking Tuesday and we had to go to three restaurants before we found a place to sit. Buffalo. On a Tuesday. So if that's not an indicator of happiness in America who knows that to could be. Good piece, despite the treacherous memes.

Interesting buzz Randall Burns love the title and the message, thank you for the mention. Interesting enough in the 1990s, a psychologist named Martin Seligman led the positive psychology movement, which placed the study of human happiness squarely at the center of psychology research and theory. It continued a trend that began in the 1960s with humanistic and existential psychology, which emphasised the importance of reaching one’s innate potential and creating meaning in one’s life, respectively. Since then, thousands of studies and hundreds of books have been published with the goal of increasing well-being and helping people lead more satisfying lives. So why aren’t we happier? Why have self-reported measures of happiness stayed stagnant for over 40 years? Understanding that it’s impossible to have happiness in all aspects of life can help you enjoy the happiness that has touched you. Recognizing that no one “has it all” can cut down on the one thing psychologists know impedes happiness: envy.

Ok, first I loved your memes Randall Burns! The bird in the sink, hilarious. Happiness is contagious and it is a choice (for the most part) unless someone is possibly dealing with something they have no control over, it's those times we can't always feel happy. I'm good at faking it though for the sake of others and by faking it, I feel it to a certain degree even during difficult times. I love to see others happy, that makes me happy too. I peeled off my grinch suit before I wrote this by the way. Oh and I think they should declare one day a year as "National Asshole Day," that way even the happiest of the happiest can act like an asshole haha.

Happiness, methinks , Pascal, is not synonymous with contentment. Indeed, perhaps Randy is “so fucking happy” precisely brcause he has an endless supply of assholes (present company excluded) to enlighten and cook for. Maybe, having a sense of purpose is really what leads to happiness. Just thinking out loud, my friend. Good piece, @Randall Burns. Cheers!

AND nothing wrong with being "mad as hell and we won't take it anymore" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WINDtlPXmmE Of course a good rant may be good in the moment one lets rip but a good rant also has the habit of coming back and biting us on our ass. Note that I said "biting us on our ass" and not "biting us on our asshole" 😜 BTW I stole your emoji Pascal but not the emoji that Ken Boddie used, because that one looks like someone has bit that emoji's ass.

You mean the etch o sketch is not the drone controller, damn, now i have to drop my suit against my drone manufacturer. I was wandering what that other thing was in the box with all the knobs:) What a well thought out position on your happiness. One thing for me in finding happiness "most of the time"....i realized i don't have control over much, but i can influence many things. Much as your post has done. Influencing others through your own happiness is a worthy and healthy task.

For those who really have to go what greater happiness is there than having a really good shit. In moments when the toilet is what one's mind and body is focused upon, what then is the value of an asshole? Has anyone tried living by taking a block of cement and plugging up their rear end or has anyone deliberately tried to constipate themselves because they want the negative out of their lives and for them the word "shit" is negative? I don't even know what John Lennon meant when he said happiness is a warm gun and it is quite ironic that he died at the hands of a gun. Yes an asshole shot John Lennon and whether we consider ourselves an asshole or whoever an asshole is just another pizza of opinion, what Robert Sutton meant in writing the No Asshole Book is listed in Wikipedia as "You have a choice between being offensive and being ignored" - so he entertained the offensive word to drive home a point about toxic people and bullies. I agree that happiness is a perspective for it certainly is not an objective measure of existence even if one is engaged in laughter therapy - but there are people in this world who are just one short moment from blowing their brains out and the suicide numbers won't improve by producing more happiness articles. Ultimately and personally for me I embrace my inner sadness as much as I do my inner happiness and in that I am much like Marvin the Robot in the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.
