Job Description

This part-time job, lasting approximately twelve months, offers a unique opportunity for a Registered Nurse to work in the field of fetal medicine and maternal health at the Ontario Fetal Centre in Mount Sinai Hospital, a global leader in innovative care. In this role, you will provide essential antenatal care, develop skills in obstetrical ultrasounds, and assist in fetal procedures and surgeries.

About our unit
Our specialized clinic at Mount Sinai Hospital focuses on enhancing the well-being of mothers and fetuses. With two locations and comprehensive services, we offer fetal ultrasound, therapy, and treatment, collaborating with experts to address fetal anomalies and conditions. Timely interventions aim to improve long-term health outcomes.

In this role you will:

Coordinate care plans, perform fetal sonography, and assist with procedures while supporting families
Provide obstetric/fetal ultrasound monitoring for inpatients and outpatients
Engage in program planning, quality improvement, and professional development activities

Job Requirements

Mandatory

Graduate of a CNO-approved nursing program
Current registration with the Ontario College of Nurses
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
ARDMS certification in OBGyn/Physics or completion within 2 years

Preferred

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) preferred
Recent experience in high-risk perinatal nursing and fetal ultrasound
CNA Perinatal Certificate

Skills and Knowledge

Maternal-fetal assessment skills
Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership
Knowledge of community resources
Experience in crisis counseling and psychosocial assessments
Support for families facing perinatal loss
Understanding of fetal and maternal health
Computer literacy and commitment to breastfeeding support
