- Manage a team of 10, E & O claims analysts to provide technical guidance with respect to coverage and strategy for the resolution of claims
- Oversee the ongoing professional development of E & O claims staff including creation of goals for both technical and soft skill development.
- Work with other divisional claims managers on the improvement and implementation of claims practices and procedures.
- Participate with divisional claims managers in training initiatives.
- Partner with E & O underwriting managers on client service and corporate marketing initiatives
- Manage of any required recruitment or performance management for the team
- Review actuarial reports and report to Claims Management with respect to reserving and claims trends
- Lead bi-annual meetings with insurer partners.
- Contribute to our corporate culture as a member of the leadership team.
- Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent years of experience
- A minimum 10 years' insurance/legal industry experience with minimum of 7 years' experience managing complex professional liability claims.
- Experience coaching, developing and engaging colleagues.
- Fluency in both official languages
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and proven analytical, organizational and decision-making skills.
- Proven track record as a change leader both from managing, executing and promoting change within a team.
- Service oriented mindset with a positive attitude and a strong desire to succeed.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment with diplomacy and discretion.
- Related insurance designation is an asset (ie. CIP, RPLU, CRM)
- AMF license or ability to achieve license in first 12 months.
- Prior people management experience
- Experience on a broad range of products including but not limited to third and first party cyber coverage
