    The opportunityAs an Applications Analyst- Digital you will be working under the Core Applications Services team which is responsible for the Enablement and sustainment of our Core Banking applications including T24, DCO (Digital Client Onboarding), and our retail & commercial digital banking platforms.

    This role encompasses collaborating with several cross functional teams and vendors for incident resolution, system optimization, enhancement solutions, requirement gathering and delivering on new initiatives to our Digital Banking platform and interfaces.

    Specific AccountabilitiesApplication SupportMonitors the performance and availability of our core banking applications, troubleshoot issues, and ensure uninterrupted services.

    Performs analysis on critical core banking platforms, systems interfaces, databases, reporting, or business intelligence systems and assists in building out and implementing remediation efforts required, based on analysis performed.

    Analyzes and prioritizes the implementation of vendor provided system updates/patches/developments with the Release Management team.
    Conducts overall impact analysis on updates/patches/developments deployed to testing and production environments.
    Identifies opportunities and presents recommendations for quality and process improvements that can be satisfied by the system.
    Develops and maintain Functional Design Documentation with changes/enhancements being initiated by CWB or our vendor partners.
    Develops and maintains application documentation such as standard operating procedures (SOP) and user guides.
    Possesses knowledge of software protocols (FTP) and audit standards (ITIL, FCAC, ISO).


    Operational support:


    Facilitate/lead design reviews (walkthroughs) of functional design with other members of the Quality Assurance and technical teams, communicating design, requirements, feature set, and functionality.

    Identify training impacts and collaborate with Business Operations for updates to training materials (changes to e-Learnings, Operations Manual, Department manuals, etc.)Investigates defects to determine if internal changes are required and makes recommendations prior to raising the defect with the Vendor.

    Coordinates and communicates with client facing departments to resolve user issues and improve user experience.
    Proficiently handles a substantial volume of incidents and service requests, demonstrating strong organizational skills.
    Effectively balances issue prioritization demonstrating an understanding of business urgency to ensure timely resolution.
    Communicates application functional knowledge with our business partners in user-friendly language.


    Business Partner Support:
    Collaborates with business and operations stakeholders to align on requirements for system changes.
    Experienced in supporting various test cycles and strategies with our Quality Assurance and User Acceptance Testing teams.
    Involvement and support to the Release Management Team in the proper deployment of changes to existing business applications.
    Conducts gap analysis on current application functionality as it relates to the end-to-end business journey and the business requirements.
    Delivers support to our business units throughout the implementation cycle of application changes/enhancements.

    Change ManagementPerforms analysis of new business requirements to determine if the change can be done in-house or necessitates vendor development.

    Capture business/technical requirements, identify pain-points/gaps, and contribute to design solutions.
    Performs systems fit/gap and impact analysis based on business and functional requirements.
    Collaborates with analysts, designers, and system owners in the deployment of changes to core applications.
    Works with project managers to develop configuration management plans, milestones, and schedules for projects.

    Partners with Business Analyst and development resources to ensure the business requirements are met by the proposed and delivered solution(s).Coordinates the development of procedural, operational, and/or functional documentation.

    Skills and competencies that will take you furtherEducationUndergraduate degree or diploma is an asset.
    Professional ExperienceMinimum 5 years application analyst experience, preferably in the financial services industry working on technology platforms (interfaces, databases, application configuration, etc.)

    Experience in Core Banking/Financial industry is a fundamental along with an understanding of retail & commercial banking.
    Experience working with digital banking systems including knowledge of integration architecture, security, and regulatory requirements. (Temenos banking software experience is preferred including jshow)Experience in Splunk (or similar log aggregation tools) is an asset.
    Proficiency in incident management and troubleshooting.
    Proficient in problem-solving and critical thinking for effective incident resolution.
    Experience with agile development methodologies.
    Strong knowledge of ITIL processes, particularly in the areas of Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
    Experience with Level 2 production support or higher.
    Experience in working with onsite or offshore third-party vendors for application development and maintenance.
    Experience working directly with technical and business teams.
    Knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies.
    Flexible and adaptable regarding learning and understanding new technologies.
    Understanding of database design, web servers and infrastructure.
    Knowledge of network hardware, protocols, and standards.
    Proficiency in using Jira / Confluence/ MS OfficePersonal CompetenciesAbility to conduct research into software-related issues and products.
    Highly motivated and self directed.
    Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
    Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate in both technical and user-friendly language.
    Ability to work both independently and in a team-orientated environment.

    Ability to quickly grasp new systems, concepts along with technology issues with the ability to troubleshoot in a structured approach.

    Ability to effectively prioritize and work in a high-pressure environment for extended periods of time to meet deadlines or resolve immediate issue to mission critical systems.
