    Description

    GFL's Emergency Response Division: Project Coordinator/Manager


    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Project management inclusive of:
      1. Quote preparation
      2. Service order generation
      3. Creation of budget template
      4. Liaison with client
      5. Daily cost tracking
      6. Verification of worked hours vs invoiced hours
      7. Final invoices and deliverables to client (summary reports, safety documentation, etc.)
      8. Complete file closure
    2. Communication and teamwork with all lines of business for technical assistance, support, and scheduling
    3. Working in a fast-paced environment requiring a high level of organization and detail
    4. Manages assigned projects to ensure effective teamwork, communication, high work quality, and organizational performance
    5. Oversees multi-disciplinary application review teams and provides process-related direction to project team members
    6. Monitors work output, reviews project deliverables, and ensures on-time, on-budget, and quality completion
    7. Oversees and evaluates external service providers' work performance
    8. Arranges business meetings, attends trade shows to promote ER business, and builds long-term customer relationships
    9. Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
    10. Ability to work collaboratively, adapt, prioritize tasks, and maintain composure under pressure
    11. Full accountability for execution of key capital projects in the $100k to $5M range
    12. Prepares scope of work documents, supports Estimating team, monitors financial performance, and supervises subcontractor invoicing
    13. Identifies improvement opportunities and participates in implementing 'best execution practices'
    14. Works closely with ER Operations Manager, Dispatch, and Billing Administrator
    15. Competent in conflict and crisis management
    16. Other duties as required

    Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or Project Management
    • P. Eng/PMP designation is an asset
    • Minimum of 5 years of Construction/Environmental experience
    • Must have previous project management and estimator experience
    • Excellent customer service skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
    • Ability to prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment and react promptly to shifting priorities
    • Operations experience is an asset
    • Ability to engage in technical discussions in various engineering disciplines
    • Knowledge of tendering process and budgeting, scheduling, tracking, monitoring, and reporting within projects
    • Experience leading projects in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
    • Understands basic revenue models, P/L, and cost-to-completion projections
    • Strong team player with the ability to work independently
    • Experience in capital project execution from scope definition to start-up
    • Flexibility to travel and attend job sites (up to 10% of time)
    • Candidates should be within commuting distance of Mississauga, Ontario
    • This is not a remote work environment
