    OVERVIEW

    Summer Student, Lab Medicine
    Temporary Full-Time (8 weeks contract)

    Join us as a Summer Student and help us fulfil our vision of providing Great Care Inspired by Community As a Summer Student you will work with us on a variety of projects and other initiatives in collaboration with various departments and teams across the hospital and external partners. This position is offered through the support of Government of Canada-Canada Summer Jobs Program. All applicants must meet theminimum requirements of that program.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Support projects and initiatives throughout, including daily operations, planning, logistics, and communications.
    - Support the documentation of best practices to ensure sustainability.
    - Assist with data modeling, analysis, evaluation and report writing.
    - Other administrative duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION

    High school diploma, required.
    - Enrollment in a relevant post-secondary program, required. Medical Laboratory Science program enrollment preferred.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
    - Strong demonstration of tact and diplomacy with a customer service focus
    - Expectation of this role encompasses the need to maintain confidentiality with respect to all aspects of the work being performed
    - Demonstrated ability to work independently, and prioritize workload
    - Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
    - Demonstrated computer literacy with proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
    - Experience with information gathering and the ability to synthesize and summarize information
    - All employees of Michael Garron Hospital (MGH), a division of Toronto East Health Network (TEHN) agree to work within the legislated practices of the Occupational Health and Safety Act of Ontario.
    - All employees of MGH are responsible to contribute to a transparent culture of patient and staff
