    Who We Are

    Student Services at Simon Fraser University is a large and diverse organization comprised of multiple departments working towards the common goals of strategic enrolment management, holistic student development and well-being, academic growth and success, co-curricular learning, and many other critical services and resources supporting individual SFU students along their educational journey.     About the Role

    This position's primary portfolio is based in student data querying and analysis, report building, visual analytics, and interpretation of various data sources in support of student enrollment (admissions, enrollment/registration, financial aid, etc.). This position may also provide project support including implementation of software, program reviews, and other priority reporting requirements.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in a quantitative science such as Computing Science, Statistics, or a related discipline, or in Business Administration, with three years related experience in data and/or business analysis; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

    • Excellent knowledge of query languages, relational databases, data structures and data relationships of systems and specifically the ability to use query tools to quickly obtain accurate and relevant information.
    • Good knowledge of enterprise level student information systems and student services business functions (e.g., PeopleSoft, Salesforce).
    • Excellent technical and functional knowledge of desktop and web-based business intelligence and visual analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlikview, etc.).
    • Excellent communication skills (oral, written, and presentation) with the ability to build relationships and maintain rapport with stakeholders.
    • Excellent analytical reasoning, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
