    Technical Manager, Equipment & O&M Engineering
    AtkinsRéalis is dedicated in engineering a better future for our planet and its people.

    The Technical Manager is a member of the Project Management Team (PMT) on the CANDU MONARK Project, responsible for leading a group of mechanical equipment engineers on the Standard Plant design, procurement, operation, and maintenance scope.

    The Technical Manager oversees the execution of design and technical activities in a project delivery environment in accordance with industry standards and established governance.

    The Technical Manager will report functionally to the Director, Process and Civil Engineering, and daily to the project Technical Director.

    Management of individuals and teams executing work packages.
    Managing the design process from concept to preliminary to detailed design.
    Planning and executing work consistent with quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
    Removing barriers that could impact quality, cost, and schedule performance.
    Working with assigned staff to find optimal solutions to project challenges.
    Providing technical guidance to staff, as appropriate.

    Ensuring that work is conducted in accordance with applicable Engineering and Quality Assurance procedures, and in accordance with the contract, applicable specifications, and technical requirements.

    Approving engineering documents and deliverables.
    Participating in the preparation of commercial proposals and approving the technical content of proposals prepared under their direction.

    Experience managing engineering work with significant interfacing requirements with other engineering teams including Licensing, Safety Analysis, Civil / Structural, Electrical/I&C, and Process Control.

    Experience working within a Quality Management System (CSA N286), and quality standards (CSA N299).
    Experience managing and/or performing work under nuclear Codes and Standards such as CSA N285, ASME III.
    Experience in equipment and component design using ANSYS, COMPRESS, and/or other equivalent analysis codes.
    Experience in procurement, operation, and maintenance of nuclear & non-nuclear process equipment.
    Proven track record of performance in a dynamic, project delivery environment.
    Excellent organization and time management skills.
    Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, or a related field from an accredited University.
    ~ 10 years of analysis and design/ technical procurement experience in heavy industry equipment and components.
    ~5 years nuclear and/or CANDU technology experience.
    ~3 or more years of experience leading engineering teams.
    ~ Experience working in a nuclear facility licensed in Canada is an asset.

    The Technical Manager will oversee the work of 20-30 engineering staff. Fostering a positive team environment where good performance is recognized and celebrated.
    Coaching for improved performance.
