    Role Responsibilities

    This Grant Advisor position is responsible for assisting with the ongoing delivery and compliance management of the Alberta Community Partnership (ACP). The position reviews ACP Intermunicipal Collaboration component applications, determines eligibility and scores/ranks well defined projects, prepares funding recommendations for Ministerial acceptance, and is responsible for the review of financial reporting and compliance processes.

    Efficiently manage municipal grant programs, primarily focusing on the Alberta Community Partnership program (ACP).

  • Review and assess grant project applications from Alberta municipalities, Metis Settlements, and municipal associations, making recommendations to the Minister while ensuring compliance with program requirements.
  • Evaluate reports and documentation provided by municipalities, ensuring compliance with grant spending requirements and resolving challenges.
  • Provide knowledge to inform program evaluation, support guideline and policy design, and recommend program enhancements.
  • Identify opportunities for IT system improvements to enhance program delivery and reporting.
  • Deliver exemplary client service and advice on municipal funding and programs.

  • Provide educational services and expert advice to municipalities and Metis Settlements.
  • Respond to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders regarding grant programs.
  • Train grant recipients on using online grant systems.
  • Liaise with Alberta municipalities and Metis Settlements.
  • Identify and propose solutions to grant processing or program issues. Participate in reviews of grant-related program or policy issues. Provide input into program impacts and potential benefits of new initiatives. Work with management to address operational and service delivery issues. Provide background and recommended responses on grant-related matters. Propose and monitor improvements to grant processing efficiencies. Maintain business process documentation. Conduct research and assist in developing options and recommendations.
  • Represent grant programs on committees and project teams. Provide key messages related to grant programs. Assist in developing materials for business and operational planning. Collaborate with team members to contribute to a high-performance team.
