    What You Will Do

    The successful candidate develops and prepares work plans as part of multi-year, multi-discipline projects and coordinates, controls, monitors, and supervises all phases of the assigned project(s), including inception, definition of scope, planning, design, procurement and construction, through commissioning and handover to project close-out. In addition, the candidate ensures project delivery is in accordance with project scope, schedule, budget and quality assurance parameters. The incumbent assists the Project Manager to deliver projects safely, on time, on budget and with requisite quality from inception through scope development, design, procurement, construction, handover, and closeout and identifies external risks and implements mitigation strategies and contingency plans. In addition, the candidate ensures design compliance by coordinating and liaising design, constructability and maintainability requirements of all TTC departments as well as review status reports from project teams and addresses issues. The incumbent monitors technical performance of the Designers and ensures all engineering milestones are met and provides project management support to the Construction Site Manager during construction, commissioning and handover, including the coordination of all scope and engineering changes.     What Qualifications Do You Bring?
    • Completion of a post-secondary college diploma or university degree (in a related engineering discipline), combined with extensive experience in the areas of project/construction/engineering management of heavy construction and/or large, multi-disciplined projects; or a combination of education, training, and experience deemed to be equivalent.
    • Registration as a licensed Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario is required.
    • A valid Province of Ontario Class G driver's licence.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of current engineering principles and practices, combined with comprehensive knowledge of project management principles and practices, including conceptual planning and all phases of design.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of construction techniques and practices, contract administration, construction inspection, and knowledge of pertinent Acts and Regulations (Construction Act, Occupational Health & Safety Act, etc.).
