    Job Description

    Role: We have an immediate opening for a Director of Operations in our CorporateBranch. Reporting to the Vice President. The Director of Operations is responsible to provide executive and operational leadership and strategy across all Creative Door Services (CDS) branch operations. This role will recommend and assist in the implementation of necessary actions to improve process, revenue generation, gross profit and operating income.

    Expectation of this role is to act with the highest level of professionalism, confidentiality, and execution excellence at all times.

  • Develop and implement analytical tools as required to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial information and ensure the reliability of financial data to assist management in operating the business
  • Execution of necessary actions to improve workflow process, revenue generation, gross profit and operating income resulting in consistently exceeding plan.
  • Work with Regional General Managers and assist in budgeting process and P & L understanding. A key focus area is to improve gross profit percent through the development of plans to improve labor management in all CDS branch locations.
  • Assist operating management to implement changes as may be required to achieve plan performance. Report as required to Corporate.
  • Assure corporate policies regarding financial management and control are in place and adhered to.
  • Evaluate the results of the operations using periodic financial and budgetary statements (regularly and systematically), formulation and implementing corrections for observed deviations from expectations, and review with executive team.
  • Assist in the preparation of short-term and long-term operational goals, plans, and expense and capital equipment budgets based on the division's goals and growth objectives.
  • Provide timely reports regarding the current and anticipated state of the business.
  • Hold ELT seat, proactively participate and contribute through alignment and engagement with other ELT Team Members ensuring CDS fiscal success.
  • Participate in monthly ASD Executive MBRS as required.
  • Skills

  • Excellent personal computing skills – MS Office.
  • 8-12 years of Service Industry experience, minimum 3-5 years of which was in industry with a construction related, service and installation or distribution company.
  • Proficient business acumen, specific to Operations and working as part of a successful ELT.
  • Acute understanding of operating a 100M dollar company with a minimum of three lines of business. Preferably, Service, Commercial Install and Residential Install/Retrofit.
  • Previous experience in a commercial or industrial construction environment is an asset.
  • Experience with (ERP) environment required with service business a plus.
  • Must posses an effective management style, be capable of assessing situations, and be a proactive part of an Executive Leadership Team. This person's demeanor and bearing garners the respect of peers and subordinates alike.
  • Proactive, engaged, disciplined, methodical and motivational; sensitive to employee relations.
  • Proficient in internal accounting control and procedures.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent leadership capabilities, and excellent problem identification and solving skills.
  • Ability to travel within Canada and Internationally as required.
  • Qualifications

    Education Requirements

  • Business Degree preferred
  • A record of continuing education in accounting topics, team-based management and quality discipline is desirable
