    Description

    Your Opportunity:

    Cancer Care Alberta is currently looking for a Clinical Instructor (CI), Radiation Therapy to our team. Reporting to the Manager, Clinical Education this dynamic role will be integrally involved in staff education and the ongoing daily operation in the Radiation Therapy Department at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre and soon to be Arthur Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre (AC). The CI will be a key program resource that uses adult learning principles to develop and deliver educational activities. Areas you will support include orientation, mandatory education, clinical competencies, changes in policies, procedures, and protocols as well as any other practice support documents to promote clinical competency in the radiation therapy department. You will also leverage your Radiation Therapy expertise to assist with the design of staff education, practice workflows, and related quality processes. The CI will bring a demonstrated experience and commitment to continuous improvement and learning. You will also use your proven communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate within a fast-paced interdisciplinary team environment. Excitingly the CI will transition in the fall to the AC, a brand-new state of the art facility that features innovative technology including CT and MRI simulators, MR Linacs utilizing adaptive treatment workflows, external beam radiation with Varian True Beam Linacs, MRI guided brachytherapy, a provincial TBI program and much more. Built for the future of cancer care the AC fosters a modern, bright design that integrates research and treatment options and enables a focus on the continuous advancement and enhanced delivery of cancer care services.     Description:

    As a Clinical Instructor, you will be an expert practitioner and key educator. You will take a leadership role in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of education for radiation therapy staff including orientation, compulsory and continuing education, and clinical development. You will collaborate with management and internal partners to promote standards of clinical, educational and evidence informed collaborative practice. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient- and family-centred care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

    Required Qualifications:

    Completion of an accredited Radiation Therapy program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Active or eligible for registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

    Additional Required Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:

    Five years of experience as a Radiation Therapist in a clinical environment.A Master's Degree in a related healthcare discipline.Experience in a leadership role (clinical leadership, subject matter expertise, project, or team lead)Experience with coaching and mentorship.Experience with evidence-based decision making.
