    About the Role:
    • As an Engineering Manager at Remitly, you will tackle intricate technical and customer challenges to create top-notch products supported by exceptional systems.
    • We utilize state-of-the-art languages, tools, and frameworks to construct applications and services based on scalable cloud architecture. Our startup environment is purpose-driven and expanding rapidly.
    • As an Engineering Manager in the Customer Success engineering team, you will be under the guidance of the senior engineering manager.
    • Your responsibilities include contributing to the engineering strategy, enhancing recruitment and cultural practices, and supervising a variety of projects across the Customer Success engineering team.
    • You play a crucial role in fostering a welcoming team culture company-wide.
    • You will oversee a team of engineers, nurture team members' careers, and shape Remitly's engineering culture as a whole.
    • To excel in this position, you will lead a team of engineers in introducing a next-generation Customer Success platform to replace the current CRM application.
    • You will collaborate with product managers and cross-functional stakeholders to implement both strategic and operational roadmaps.



    You Will:
    • Provide Technical Leadership and spearhead complex, long-term, cross-team engineering initiatives.
    • Collaborate with product managers to comprehend requirements, translate them into technical tasks, and ensure the engineering team meets the desired outcomes.
    • Establish high standards for planning and execution, including quarterly objectives, resource allocation, and prioritization.
    • Act as a role model in upholding Remitly's cultural values and leveraging them to mentor other engineers within the company to reach their full potential.
    • Manage the workflow of a product team with a DevOps mindset.
    • Make appropriate trade-offs between schedule and features, and assist the team in making sound technical decisions.

    You Have:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience.
    • 8+ years of experience, including:
    • 3+ years in a technical leadership role.
    • Experience leading core engineering efforts, technical teams, and building diverse, empowered teams.
    • Experience in defining and influencing technical designs and processes across a team.
    • An understanding of software development practices, system design, software design patterns, and algorithms.
    • Familiarity with technologies employed in the project (Java, JavaScript, Go, TypeScript, React, and Kotlin).

    Compensation Details:
    • The initial base salary range for this position is $136,000-$170,000. In Canada, Remitly employees are stakeholders in the Company, with equity being a part of the overall compensation package.
