    About the Role:


    As an Engineering Manager at Remitly, you are responsible for taking on complex technical and customer challenges and creating best-in-class products backed by great systems.

    We use cutting-edge languages, tools, and frameworks to build applications and services based on scalable cloud architecture. Our startup work environment is, mission-driven, and growing quickly.

    As an Engineering Manager in Customer Success engineering team, you will report to the senior engineering manager.

    You contribute to engineering strategy, improving recruiting and cultural practices, and overseeing diverse projects across the Customer Success engineering team.

    You are a partner who creates a welcoming team culture across the company.

    You will manage a team of engineers while growing the careers of team members and shaping the engineering culture of Remitly as a whole.

    To succeed in this role, you will lead a team of engineers to launch next-gen Customer success platform replacing current CRM application.

    You will partner with product managers, cross-functional stakeholders to execute both strategic and tactical roadmaps.


    You Will:
    Provide Technical Leadership and lead complex, long-term, cross-team engineering efforts.

    Partner with product managers to understand requirements, translate these requirements into technical tasks, and ensure the engineering team delivers the expected outcome.

    Set a high bar for planning and execution, including quarterly goals, resource allocation, and prioritisation.

    Be a role model in upholding Remitly's cultural values and use them as a framework to mentor other engineers across the company to achieve their full potential.

    Manage the system of work of one product team with a DevOps mindset.
    Make appropriate tradeoffs between schedule, features, and help team take sound technical decisions


    You Have:
    Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree or experience.
    8+ years of experience, including: 3+ years of experience in a technical leadership role.
    Experience leading core engineering efforts / technical teams / building diverse, empowered teams
    Experience defining and influencing technical designs and processes across a team.
    An understanding of software development practices, system design, software design patterns, and algorithms.
    Familiarity with technologies used in the project (one or more) Java, JavaScript, Go, TypeScript, React, and Kotlin

    Compensation Details:
    The starting base salary range for this position is $136,000-$170,000. In Canada, Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
