    Consultant, Records Management (Data Governance)
    You will be joining The Enterprise Security, Architecture, Analytics and Fraud group.

    The Architecture, Data & Analytics is a top down, business strategy driven functional group that coordinates data and records management, analytics, governance, and architecture activities across all lines of business.

    The Enterprise Data and Records Management Office (EDRMO) is responsible for establishing data as a strategic asset, further enhancing data governance, building out the data and analytic capabilities, and developing an enterprise-wide data management strategy to:

    Improve the bank's data quality through focused data governance programs and processes.
    Use new data technology to increase agility and reduce cost.
    Terms: 6 Month rolling contract (subject to an extension)

    Location:
    Hybrid 2 days/week – Downtown Toronto

    ~ The Senior Consultant, Data Lifecycle Management is responsible for providing consultative and subject matter expertise, ensuring all data users understand the Enterprise Data Governance policies, procedures, and applicable standards. The role provides expertise to delivery, business, and technology partners, utilizing a solid understanding of various business requirements and dynamics. Consultant is a key member of the Enterprise Data and Records Management Office. The mandate of the role is to create presentations and share Information with senior management and the EDRMO regarding ongoing data/records management activities, performance metrics, issues, and other program activities to enable awareness and tracking of program compliance and remediation efforts. The Senior Consultant is accountable for providing business leadership and consultative support relative to the development, analysis and implementation of process changes or other activities which help our partners achieve their strategic objectives while achieving compliance with the Data Lifecycle Management Policies and applicable standards. The incumbent will proactively analyze and recommend enhancements to the existing business processes; clearly communicate rationale and negotiate solutions which will enhance data and records operational effectiveness. Consultant will ensure that all assigned initiatives are implemented in an effective manner, as well as participate in meetings to answer questions as a data and records management subject matter expert.

    This role will collaborate with multiple stakeholders within Business and Technology to ensure that Data Governance policies and standards align with our regulatory requirements set out by upcoming legislative changes.

    This role will monitor adherence to data management practices across the organization to ensure availability of high-quality data, consultative and subject matter expertise, ensuring all users of data understand policies, procedures, and standards.

    Support data governance and data quality initiatives particularly for integration of new data sources, reconciliation efforts as well as prescribing requirements of user/business acceptance testing

    Collaborating with other stakeholders and Technology to ensure that the data policies, procedures, standards/processes are consistent where possible and aligned with enterprise standards.

    Function as the Subject Matter Expert for the governance framework, including Data & Records Risk Assessments.

    Develop, implement, and maintain compliance monitoring activities to effectively support EDRMO's first line of defense role over the Policy.

    Gather, validate, and document business requirements for assigned projects to ensure maximization of operational efficiency, data currency, integrity, and consistency with organization's strategic direction.

    Lead strategic analysis and reporting of findings to wide audiences, be comfortable presenting to senior leadership and executives steering committees.

    Supports all internal and external regulatory reviews and manage deliverables because of review findings.

    The incumbent plays a critical role in driving risk process enhancement efforts to increase efficiency, including process automation and optimization.

    Manage and facilitate project team to meet deliverables, provide leadership to troubleshoot issues and ensure team members stay on track with assigned responsibilities.

    Provide consultative advice and guidance to ensure organizational consistency as to the interpretation and implementation of Data Lifecycle Management Policy, Standards, and overall Governance Framework.

    Assist various projects by providing consulting advice to other functions in the Enterprise (i.e., Finance, Risk, Privacy, Legal, Audit, etc.) on various components of the Enterprise Data Governance Program.

    You have strong understanding of compliance management practices, risk assessments, control concepts and methodologies, including Control Framework and control testing methodologies.

    You have comprehensive knowledge of the principles, practices and procedures in the field of banking operations and records management processes sufficient to analyze and interpret complex concepts and apply these in innovative ways.

    You have experience with the Records related regulatory environment; sufficient to assess and recommend changes to risk and compliance practices related to the Enterprise' policies and governance programs.

    You have a degree/diploma in CA, CMA, MBA, CIA, CISA; advanced Data Management or Information Management. Minimum 5 years of experience in financial services, government and/or information governance industry. Information/Data Governance designation is preferred, but not mandatory.
    You have experience in supporting enterprise-wide data governance programs; data quality, metadata management and regulatory requirements.
