What's the role?


As
VP, Commercial Sales & Service, you'll lead the strategic direction of our Commercial division, ensuring alignment with corporate goals.

Reporting to the SVP Commercial Sales and Service, your focus includes developing and implementing growth-driven strategies, identifying competitive trends, and collaborating with peers to deliver on Coastal Community's vision.

Working closely with the VP Credit Risk, you'll contribute to the development of new initiatives and lines of business.

You'll be accountable for achieving financial goals, empowering Regional Managers to drive growth and efficiency, while maintaining risk levels at acceptable standards.


Your duties will include:

  • Accountable for development and implementation of corporate strategies and policies providing leadership and advice on all operational matters; identifies short and longterm goals and objectives and contributes to the design and development of policies and programs.
  • Provides oversight and leadership on corporate projects providing strategic guidance on the delivery of sales and services for the commercial division.
  • Accountable through effective and strategic sales management and leadership to ensure goals and objectives are met for the commercial division, while supporting the growth of the business through sales and relationship management
  • Is an active member/participant on a variety of organizational committees, such as Investment and Lending Committee, ALCO, Operational Risk Committee, Senior Credit Group and Management Credit Committee
  • Responsible for the design of continuous improvement processes and conducts regular evaluations and followup to determine the effectiveness of operations and to determine strategic alignment, effectiveness, and compliance in achieving business results.
  • Responsible for preparing annual business plan and budget for all commercial areas of responsibility; monitor activities ensuring they are conducted according to plan and budget.
  • Provides oversight and accountability for the overall leadership, supervision, coaching, and development of the Commercial Services management team, and developing the next level of succession to deliver on outcomes of the strategic vision with a focus on building and maintaining an advicebased approach to relationship management.
  • Accountable for effective leadership of the senior management team by creating a trusted environment that fosters collaboration and innovation, ensures a respectful, engaging, and productive work environment and positive culture.
  • Responsible for the achievement of financial goals through effective sales and service initiatives.
  • Contributes to planning, directing and evaluating organizational development and professional growth activities for the management team.
  • Accountable for identifying opportunities and networks and collaborates with key resources and departments across all business lines to drive business growth and meet objectives.
  • Responsible for engaging regional teams to cultivate opportunities and grow the business portfolios.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of the annual AOPB and budget for the division and clearly defined annual objectives that drive member, relationship, and revenue growth.
  • Responsible and accountable for the development, implementation and management of the divisions budget including capital, operating and personnel expenses and communicating organizational expectations regarding the budget process.
  • Responsible to ensure that levels of risk control are in place and being monitored to minimize Credit Union losses and mitigate risk.

What are we looking for?

  • Successful completion of a Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline (e.g. Commerce and Business Administration) requiring a minimum of 4 years of fulltime study or equivalent.
  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • Advanced understanding of credit union operations, principles, and values.
Ideally, you are a flexible, collaborative team player with:

  • Minimum ten (10) years of progressive experience managing a financial service environment: managing a diversified and increasingly complex loan portfolio, successfully developing, and managing people, and business development.
  • Minimum five (5) years in a senior Commercial Banking and/or Credit Risk role.
  • Superior knowledge of business lending, regulatory requirem
