    Description
    Large, well-known organization based in Burnaby is looking to hire a Budgeting & Forecasting Finance Manager. This will be a 6-month temporary position, with the possibility of extension.

    Location – Burnaby

    Salary – $40-46/hr


    Some primary duties will include:

    • Understand, improve and implement a new forecasting process
    • Conduct variance analysis to understand and explain forecast variances
    • Understand, improve and implement a revised internal budgeting process
    • Liaise with other business areas or external stakeholders to gather information or explain information
    • Manage multiple deliverables and deadlines
    • Provide guidance and direction to analysts
    • Prepares the budget for review by the Senior Manager, oversees the preparation of monthly and multi-year forecasts and related financial reports/analyses, and produces timely financial information to assist the Executive in making sound business decisions
    • Compiles the budget, assesses, and recommends where funds need to be allocated, and prepares the budget for review by the Senior Manager,
    • Develops budget guidelines and targets
    • Provides elaboration and consultation regarding the budget, revises budget documents as required, and prepares budget submissions for presentation to the Executive, Board, Ministry, and Treasury Board.
    • Oversees the preparation of monthly forecasts and related financial reports/analyses and produces timely financial information to assist the organization in making sound business decisions.

    Requirements:

    • Senior level accounting experience
    • Experience in large and computerized accounting operations in the public or non-profit sector
    • Bachelor's degree in commerce, business administration, finance, public administration, economics, or a related field.
    • CPA designation
    • Extensive experience in forecasting, budgeting and variance analysis
    • Experience in working in large complex organization
    • Self motived, can take initiative for own learning, problem solving and critical thinking
    • Experienced in stakeholder engagement and communicating financial information across all levels of an organization
    • Experience with with process improvement or continuous improvement
    • Proficiency with figures and high attention to detail and accuracy
    • Strong analytical, investigative and problem-solving skills
    • Considerable knowledge of budgeting functions, specifically within the government and non-profit environments.
    • Considerable knowledge of financial, accounting and reporting systems, processes, and controls.
    • Extensive knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis models and frameworks specifically within the government and non-profit environment and substantial aptitude to disseminate this knowledge across the team.
    • Strong organizational ability
    • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
