    Description
    This is a contract position for a UX Designer for our public sector client.

    Work location:
    North York


    Duration:
    Twelve Months

    7.25 hours/day
    This is a Hybrid role that requires the candidate to be onsite 2-3 days of the week (This is a mandatory requirement of the role and is non-negotiable outside of exceptional circumstances.)

    Responsibilities

    • Create effective, user friendly and visually appealing interfaces
    • Design the overall functionality of the product in order to ensure a great user experience, iterate upon it in accordance with usertesting
    • Design user interfaces for various projects such as digital displays, publications, media, and other creative materials as required
    • Take a usercentered design approach and rapidly test and iterate the designs
    • Conceive and conduct user research, interviews and surveys, and translating them into sitemaps, user flows, customer journey maps, wireframes, mockups and prototypes

    General Skills:

    • Relevant experience creating GUI designs based on user interaction and performance
    • Experience as a UX designer, interactive designer, UI designer, or similar role, designing for web and mobile applications
    • Proficiency with design and prototyping tools
    • Thorough understanding of the limitations and appropriate use of web development technologies
    • Experience in designing online programs with emphasis in the emotional aspects of human experience
    • Experience conceiving and conducting user research, interviews and surveys, and translating them into sitemaps, user flows, user journey maps, wireframes, mockups and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences
    • Experience designing the overall functionality of the product, and in order to ensure a great user experience, iterate upon it in accordance with usertesting
    • Experience designing and delivering wireframes, user stories, user flows, user journeys, mockups and prototypes optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces
    • Experience facilitating the client's product vision by researching, conceiving, sketching, prototyping and usertesting experiences for digital products and optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces
    • Experience identifying design problems and devising elegant solutions
    • Experience making strategic design and userexperience decisions related to core, and new, functions and features Experience gathering user feedback to configure existing interfaces

    Desirable Skills:

    • Knowledge of network security and network protocols
    Qualifications

    • Experience in leading the design of complex digital services from concept to production
    • Portfolio of recent work demonstrating UI/UX expertise in designing complex online services
    • Expert knowledge of information architecture and interaction design, usercentered design processes, user experience principles
    • Demonstrated experience developing key design deliverables such as user flows, wireframes, mockups, clickable prototypes, presentations and reports
    • Experience in conducting research, user research, usability testing
    • Experience in designing online services to be accessible by default
    • Proficient with design and prototyping software, digital collaboration and web conferencing tools
