    Description

    Job Summary:

    We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SQL Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in managing SQL Database environments, ensuring their performance, availability, scalability, and security.

    Job Description:

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    · Design, implement, and maintain Azure/On-Prem SQL Database solutions for optimal performance, scalability, and reliability.

    · Monitor and optimize Azure /On Prem SQL Database performance, ensuring high availability and responsiveness.

    · Implement and manage database security measures, including access controls, encryption, and auditing.

    · Perform database backups, restores, and disaster recovery operations in Azure/On Prem environments.

    · Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks, errors, and outages.

    · Collaborate with development teams to optimize database schema, queries, and indexing strategies for improved performance.

    · Stay up-to-date with Azure SQL Database best practices, trends, and technologies, and recommend process improvements.

    · Document database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.

    · Maintain integrity and performance of company databases.

    · Develop processes for optimizing database security

    · Inform end users of changes in databases and train to utilize systems

    · Install and maintain the performance of database servers.

    · Performance tuning of database systems.

    · Install, upgrade, and manage database applications.

    · Recommend and implement emerging database technologies.

    · Create and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards.

    · Automate reoccurring tasks.

    · Available for on-call support as needed.

    Requirements:

    · Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer/Information Science preferred.

    · Minimum 3-4 years' experience in database administration, information technology, database architecture, or related functions.

    · Strong knowledge of Azure SQL Database services, including Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and Azure SQL Database Hyperscale.

    · Experience with database security principles and best practices, including role-based access control, encryption, and compliance.

    · Proficiency in SQL query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning.

    · Advanced knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance standards.

    · Understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling

    · PowerShell and Unix shell scripting skills

    · Familiar with SSAS, SSIS, SSRS

    · Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    · Impeccable attention to detail.

    · Work effectively in a team environment.

    · Strong planning, time management, and excellent organizational skills to meet deadlines.
