    Directeur de l'ingénierie de projet, Gestion de l'ingénierie

    Le directeur de l'ingénierie de projet rejoindra la pratique de gestion de l'ingénierie au sein de l'organisation professionnelle technique (OTP) des Services d'ingénierie du Canada. Le directeur de l'ingénierie de projet jouera un rôle de premier plan dans la prestation de services d'ingénierie sur des projets importants et complexes tout en soutenant la croissance de la pratique de gestion de l'ingénierie.

    Relevant du vice-président et chef de pratique de gestion de l'ingénierie, le directeur de l'ingénierie de projet contribuera a l'élaboration de la stratégie du groupe et supervisera/assurera la réussite de l'exécution de grands projets multidisciplinaires, de leur conception a leur achèvement.

    De plus, vous travailler en étroite collaboration avec des équipes interfonctionnelles, notamment des chefs de projet, des concepteurs et des parties prenantes, pour fournir des solutions de haute qualité qui répondent et dépassent les attentes des clients. Le candidat idéal possédera de solides compétences en leadership, une expertise technique exceptionnelle et une expérience avérée dans la gestion de projets d'ingénierie a grande échelle.

    Responsabilités

    Planification et exécution de projets
  • Collaborer avec les chefs de projet pour définir les objectifs, les calendriers et les livrables, en veillant a ce qu'ils soient conformes aux exigences du client et aux objectifs de l'entreprise ;
  • Superviser le cycle de vie des projets d'ingénierie, y compris la conception, le développement, les essais et la mise en œuvre, tout en gérant efficacement les ressources ;
  • Examiner les documents contractuels pour s'assurer que les prestations et obligations liées a l'étendue des travaux soient parfaitement comprises et identifiées ;
  • Examiner l'estimation des heures de travail pour un projet et s'assurer que le budget et le calendrier soient respectés ;
  • Contrôler l'avancement des projets, identifier et atténuer les risques, et résoudre tout problème ou obstacles susceptible d'avoir une incidence sur les délais ou la qualité d'un projet.

    Expertise technique et assurance qualité
  • Fournir des conseils et une expertise technique a l'équipe de gestionnaires de l'ingénierie, en veillant a l'utilisation des meilleures pratiques et normes de l'industrie ;
  • Procéder a des examens réguliers et a des évaluations de la qualité des livrables en matière d'ingénierie, en veillant au respect des exigences du projet, des spécifications et des normes de qualité;
  • Promouvoir des initiatives d'amélioration continue afin de renforcer les processus, les méthodologies et les outils d'ingénierie, en favorisant l'efficacité et la productivité ;
  • Jouer activement le rôle de gestionnaire de l'ingénierie dans le cadre d'un projet important.

    Collaboration avec les parties prenantes
  • Collaborer étroitement avec les parties prenantes internes et externes, y compris les clients, les architectes, les entrepreneurs et les autorités réglementaires, afin d'assurer la réussite du projet;
  • Communiquer efficacement, fournir des mises a jour régulières sur le projet, répondre aux préoccupations et gérer les attentes afin de favoriser de solides relations avec les clients ;
  • Participer activement aux réunions, aux présentations et aux discussions techniques, en représentant l'équipe d'ingénierie et en fournissant des avis et des recommandations d'experts.

    Qualifications :
  • Baccalauréat ou maîtrise en ingénierie ou dans un domaine connexe, avec plus de 15 ans d'expérience dans un domaine pertinent. Au moins cinq ans d'expérience dans la gestion de l'ingénierie, la supervision de projets d'ingénierie complexes et la direction d'équipes pluridisciplinaires ;
  • Capacité a obtenir le titre professionnel approprié dans plusieurs juridictions au Canada ;
  • Solide expertise technique dans une discipline d'ingénierie pertinente, avec une compréhension approfondie des principes, des méthodologies et des meilleures pratiques en matière d'ingénierie ;
  • Excellentes compétences en matière de leadership et de gestion des gens, avec la capacité d'inspirer, de rassembler et de motiver les membres d'une équipe pour atteindre les objectifs du projet ;
  • Compétences exceptionnelles en matière de résolution de problèmes et de prise de décision, avec un sens aigu du détail et un engagement a fournir des services de qualité.
  • Capacité a communiquer de façon efficace, tant a l'oral qu'a l'écrit, avec la capacité de présenter des informations techniques complexes a des publics divers (le français et l'anglais sont un atout) ;
  • Solides compétences en gestion de projet, y compris la capacité a hiérarchiser les tâches, a gérer les ressources et a mener a bien les projets dans le respect du budget et du calendrier ;
  • Familiarité avec les logiciels, outils et technologies d'ingénierie pertinents.

    Project Engineering Director, Engineering Management

    The Project Engineering Director will join the Engineering Management practice within the Technical Professional Organization (TPO) of Engineering Services Canada. The Project Engineering Director will play a lead role in the delivery of Engineering Services on large and complex projects while also supporting the growth of the Engineering Management practice.

    Reporting to the VP and Practice Lead, Engineering Management Practice, the Project Engineering Director will contribute to the development of the team's strategy and overseeing/ensuring the successful execution of large, multi-disciplinary projects from inception to completion. In addition, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, designers, stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions that meet and exceed client expectations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, exceptional technical expertise, and a proven track record of managing large-scale engineering projects.

    Responsibilities

    Project Planning and Execution:
  • Collaborate with project managers to define project goals, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with client requirements and overall business objectives;
  • Oversee the engineering project lifecycle, including design, development, testing, and implementation, while managing resources effectively;
  • Review contract documents to ensure all deliverables and obligations associated with the scope of work are fully understood and identified;
  • Review work hour estimate for the project and ensure budget and schedule are adhered to;
  • Monitor project progress, identify and mitigate risks, and resolve any issues or bottlenecks that may impact project timelines or quality.

    Technical Expertise and Quality Assurance:
  • Provide technical guidance and expertise to the engineering team, ensuring the use of industry best practices and standards;
  • Conduct regular reviews and quality assessments of engineering deliverables, ensuring compliance with project requirements, specifications, and quality standards;
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives to enhance engineering processes, methodologies, and tools, driving efficiency and productivity;
  • Actively act in the role of Engineering Manager on a major project.

    Stakeholder Collaboration:
  • Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, architects, contractors, and regulatory authorities, to ensure project success;
  • Engage in effective communication, providing regular project updates, addressing concerns, and managing expectations to foster strong client relationships;
  • Actively participate in meetings, presentations, and technical discussions, representing the engineering team and providing expert insights and recommendations.

    Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related field with 15+ years of experience in a relevant field. Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering management, overseeing complex engineering projects and leading multidisciplinary teams;
  • Ability to obtain relevant professional designation in multiple jurisdictions across Canada;
  • Strong technical expertise in a relevant engineering discipline, with a deep understanding of engineering principles, methodologies, and best practices;
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire, unify and motivate team members to achieve project goals;
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results;
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex technical information to diverse audiences (both French and English are an asset);
  • Proven project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and deliver projects within budget and on schedule;
  • Familiarity with relevant engineering software, tools, and technologies.
