    Stantec's Mining, Minerals and Metals Practice is seeking a Senior Open Pit Mining Engineer interested in joining an established team of industry leaders in Vancouver, B.The successful candidate will support global mining projects and help our clients unlock potential by engineering safe, innovative, and sustainable solutions to complex challenges.

    Lead and/or support the development of open pit mining studies ranging in level of detail (conceptual to feasibility level studies)
    Mentor intermediate to junior level mining engineers on technical aspects of the project and project management.
    Provide technical mine planning support and direction to Junior/Intermediate Engineers and Technologists
    Support due diligence and technical audits
    Author technical reports
    Act as senior reviewer of drawings, specifications, mine planning, and technical reports
    Lead project teams performing trade-off and optimization studies including but not limited to mine access and haulage, material handling, pit designs, mine plans and fleet electrification
    Domestic and International travel with the possibility of extended stays may be required
    Strong understanding of metal open pit deposits and project optimiation
    Experience with implementation of new technologies
    Proficiency in CAD based mine design applications
    Proficiency in compiling and presenting data to the clients
    Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent from a recognized post-secondary institution
    Operations experience in Open Pit mining considered an asset
    Experience with Hexagon MinePlan mine planning applications and Geovia Whittle Optimization considered an asset
    Typical office environment working with computers. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
