    This is a fantastic opportunity for an early career-professional to join a high-performing teambuilding and running the execution engine for Canada's newest pension plan.

    Reporting to the Director, Treasury, the senior analyst will support a range of activities including passive equity and fixed income investment strategies, cash and liquidity management, and liability-driven investment strategies The position will also be exposed to trading, including FX.

    The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and demonstrates a strong sense of ownership and initiative in handling projects and tasks.

    The candidate should possess a strong willingness to work in a start-up environment, be adaptative and flexible to dynamic situations, have experience in multi-asset class investing, and strong analytical skills.

    Experience working at a pension plan or asset manager is an asset.

    The Senior Analyst, Treasury will be responsible for a variety of duties, including but not limited to the following:

    Identify liquidity management transactions to ensure prudent levels of liquidity at UPP as well as maintaining compliance with policy requirements
    Assist in fixed income analysis to support UPP's Liability Driven Investing activity
    Monitor total fund exposures and provide supporting analysis to manage asset mix
    Assist in the development and implementation of new internal and external passive exposure tools
    Monitor and support management of execution costs and risk
    Collaborate with Operations, IT, Legal/Compliance and Risk groups
    Decision Support and Ad-Hoc Analysis/Assignments


    • Perform analysis to support Treasury and Investment activities, regarding total fund management, risk and return optimization
    Support system data integration and workflows

    Training
    ~ Mentor and Train junior team members

    Quantitative undergraduate or graduate degree, or business degree
    1-5 years of experience in a financial role, ideally with some exposure to one or more of derivatives, fixed income, equity, and currencies, with direct exposure to trading being an asset
    Python, VBA) and command of Bloomberg, MS Office and PowerBI
    Demonstrated ability to meet high performance standards and maintain a calm, pleasant demeanor in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
