    Why is this role important?
    The Senior Analyst plays a key role in organizing and leveraging the pan-Canadian data CIHI
    holds, maintains CIHI's secure online business intelligence analytic tools and provides support to internal and external clients who are using our digital tools for analysis and reporting. This may involve data management, developing and maintaining data and information standards (e.g., methodologies, indicators, and statistics), preparing relevant documentation,
    providing client support, assessing data quality, producing statistics, fulfilling custom data
    requests, conducting analysis and contributing to analytical reports. The Senior Analyst participates in department/branch projects and initiatives, as well as other meetings and special projects as required. This role works closely with numerous departments across the organization, including the Health System Performance, and the Information Technology and Services teams. What you'll do
    1. Support the operations for CIHI's data and digital analytic tools, ensuring it is fit for purpose, and to support the production of key deliverables for internal and external dissemination. Key deliverables include relevant documentation, data tables, custom data requests, and topical analytical reports.
    2. Conducts data management activities including writing and updating statistical code
    required for the development, computation, analysis, and/or verification of key deliverables. This may include support for the release of data and information through private reporting tools, including leading the execution of test strategies / test cases to ensure accuracy of the reported results in adherence with CIHI's corporate information quality framework.
    3. Maintains detailed knowledge of data, tools, and analytical techniques used to produce standard and ad-hoc outputs.
    4. Participates in special projects and maintenance of digital tools by contributing to project planning and monitoring, requirements gathering, front end user acceptance testing, etc.
    5. Leads and/or contributes to the development of materials (e.g., analytical reports, methodology or technical notes, presentations, educational, media, etc.) for dissemination of findings and knowledge translation, and reviews written products for analytic accuracy and quality.
    6. Provides professional and timely client support to respond to internal and external client queries as required.
    7. Ensures adherence to, and ability to demonstrate compliance with, CIHI's privacy and security policies and procedures when using CIHI data and information.
    8. Maintains current knowledge of CIHI's data holdings, trends in health services research and health policy, and stakeholder information needs to support current work and contribute to the development of new analytic proposals.
    9. Participates in other meetings and corporate project teams as required. What you'll bring to the table

    • Undergraduate degree in health sciences, data or computer sciences, health informatics or a related field. A graduate degree in is an asset.

    • Three to five years related experience working with relational databases / large datasets,

    • including manipulating, maintaining, and preparing data and presenting analyses and reports for different audiences.

    • Experience using R or Python to manipulate data and draw insights from large datasets. In addition, experience with SAS is an asset. Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office applications.

    • Experience with business intelligence tools, such as MicroStrategy, Tableau, Qlik, Power BI, etc.

    • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team with minimal supervision including the ability to simplify communication of complex concepts

    • Proven organizational and time management skills, with an ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively to meet deadlines.

    • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

    • Fluency in English is required, bilingualism is an asset. Closing Statement

    Pourquoi ce rôle est-il important ?
    L'analyste principal joue un rôle clé dans l'organisation et l'exploitation des données pancanadiennes que détient l'ICIS. Il assure la maintenance des outils analytiques d'exploitation des données en ligne sécurisés de l'ICIS et fournit un soutien aux clients internes et externes qui utilisent nos outils numériques aux fins d'analyse et de déclaration de données. Ses tâches comprennent la gestion des données l'élaboration et la tenue à jour des normes de données et d'information (p. ex. méthodologies, indicateurs, statistiques), la préparation de documents pertinents, le soutien à la clientèle, l'évaluation de la qualité des données, la production de statistiques, l'exécution des demandes de données personnalisées, la réalisation d'analyses et la participation à l'élaboration de rapports analytiques. L'analyste principal participe aux projets et initiatives de la Direction et de la Division, ainsi qu'à diverses réunions et à des projets spéciaux, au besoin. Il collabore étroitement avec plusieurs divisions de l'organisme, notamment les équipes de la Performance du système de santé et des Services et technologies de l'information. Quelles seront vos responsabilités ?
    1. Appuyer les activités liées aux données et aux outils numériques d'analyse de l'ICIS, en veillant à ce qu'ils correspondent à l'objectif établi, et à la réalisation des principaux livrables (p. ex. documents pertinents, tableaux de données, demandes de données personnalisées et rapports analytiques thématiques) en vue de leur diffusion interne et externe.
    2. Mener des activités de gestion des données, telles que la rédaction et la mise à jour des codes statistiques requis pour la préparation, le calcul, l'analyse et la vérification des principaux livrables. Participer, au besoin, à la publication de données et d'information au moyen des outils de diffusion privée, notamment en dirigeant l'exécution de stratégies et de scénarios d'essai pour assurer l'exactitude des résultats déclarés, dans le respect du Cadre de la qualité de l'information de l'ICIS.
    3. Maintenir des connaissances approfondies des données, des techniques d'analyse et des outils utilisés dans la production des rapports standards et spéciaux.
    4. Participer à des projets spéciaux et à la maintenance des outils numériques en contribuant notamment à la planification et au suivi des projets, à la compilation des exigences et aux essais d'acceptation par les utilisateurs.
    5. Diriger ou appuyer l'élaboration de documents (p. ex. rapports analytiques, notes méthodologiques ou techniques, présentations, matériel de formation et documents destinés aux médias) aux fins de diffusion des résultats et de transmission des connaissances, et examiner les documents afin d'en assurer l'exactitude analytique et la qualité.
    6. Fournir un soutien rapide et professionnel en répondant aux questions des clients internes et externes, au besoin.
    7. Assurer et démontrer la conformité aux politiques et procédures de l'ICIS en matière de respect de la vie privée et de sécurité dans le cadre de l'utilisation des données et de l'information de l'ICIS.
    8. Tenir à jour sa connaissance des banques de données de l'ICIS, de l'évolution des politiques de santé et de la recherche sur les services de santé, et des besoins en information des intervenants afin d'appuyer les travaux actuels et de participer à l'élaboration de nouvelles offres analytiques.
    9. Participer à d'autres réunions et collaborer avec d'autres équipes de projet de l'ICIS, au besoin. Que mettriez-vous à profit ?

    • Diplôme universitaire de premier cycle en sciences de la santé, en sciences des données, en informatique, en informatique de la santé ou dans un domaine connexe. Diplôme d'études supérieures, un atout.

    • De 3 à 5 ans d'expérience de travail avec des bases de données relationnelles ou de vastes ensembles de données, ce qui comprend la manipulation, la tenue à jour et la préparation de données, de même que la présentation d'analyses et de rapports destinés à divers publics.

    • Expérience des langages R ou Python en vue de manipuler des données et de tirer des conclusions à partir de grands ensembles de données. Expérience de l'utilisation de SAS, un atout. Maîtrise des applications de Microsoft Office.
