Description

Our Customer is looking to Hire for their explosive growth in their Direct to Consumer Channel. The Insurance Advisor is an underwriting professional licensed to sell personal insurance directly to consumers nationally and to service all their insurance related needs. In addition, the role is responsible to underwrite personal lines policies nationally and within authorized limits in accordance with established policies, practices, standards and applicable laws and regulations.

The hours of operation for the Direct Channel Department are Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You will be required to work five 7.5 hour shifts per week/37.5 hours per week within these hours of operation.

Our Customer has adopted a hybrid return-to-office model. This role will require you to work in the Markham office location 2 - 3 days per week.

Responsibilities:

Understand customer insurance needs and providing insurance solutions
Quote and Sell Insurance Home and Auto policies
Assist new customers with their Home and Auto insurance needs
Service existing customers by updating their policies to meet their changing needs and provide new products as required
Drive strong customer retention by providing a world class customer experience
Underwrite new business, policy endorsements and renewals by obtaining all necessary information from the customer relevant to pricing and risk analysis
Stay up to date on underwriting and regulatory guidelines
Requirements:
College Diploma or University Degree
Sales and customer service experience (mandatory)
OTL licensed or RIBO licensed required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Customer focused and ability to match products to customers needs
Good problem solving skills
Ability to self-manage and prioritize work
Strong computer skills ability to learn new software applications
Insurance sales/service underwriting experience an asset
Actively working towards CIP or FCIP designation an asset
