Come work as a Family Physician / Emergency Physician with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)
This is an opportunity for a Family Physician (FP) or Emergency Physician (EP) to as a part-time position at an Urgent and Primary Care Clinic (UPCC) in Vancouver.
The Southeast UPCC provides urgent care for patients with non-life-threatening injuries, illnesses and conditions that should be addressed within 12 to 24 hours, but do not require the service and expertise of a hospital emergency department (CTAS 3,4,5).
The UPCC will operate 7 days per week, year round, Mon-Sat and Sunday and Holidays fromThe clinic provides team-based care, with off-site rapid access to X-ray, ultrasound and labs. Patients are linked to appropriate care pathways that include specialist, social service, and primary care.
Of particular note:
all treatment and follow-up will be carefully integrated with existing Primary Care providers, and patients will be supported to find Primary Care if unattached.
The clinic supports learning, skill development and continuous quality improvement through clinical simulation exercises and a range of quality improvement initiatives.
Education, Licensing, & Experience:
Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) – Mandatory
Current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC) License - Provisional
Combines current or recent experience in primary care along with urgent or emergent care, with a clear understanding of the role and importance of foundational primary care, with the ability to integrate the two.
As per the current Public Health Orders, as of October 5, 2023, all employees working for Vancouver Coastal Health must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or have received a single dose of the most-recent, updated COVID-19 vaccine.
