Job Summary:

Safran Electronics & Defense Canada designs and manufactures electronic control units and components for aerospace and safety critical applications.

Our multidisciplinary Engineering team consists of product, hardware, software and test specialists with a vast array of skills and competencies to meet the rigorous demands of the market.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated individuals to take on the role of Project Manager on current and upcoming developments.

These individuals will work closely with the Program Managers and Product Design Leads to manage the successful execution of projects by using modern project management methods and techniques.

Responsibilities:

Define and manage the Work Breakdown Structure of the project, including but not limited to, life cycle data deliveries, scheduling, resource loading and KPIs
Coordinate with customers on specific project milestones and deliverable needs
With the program and product leads, manage the development baselines and change impacts in terms of cost, schedule and resource needs
Assignment of work within the project team based on skills and availability
Coordinate with engineering management on forecasted resource loads and skills gaps, including sub-contracting opportunities

Job Requirements

Skills and Qualifications:

Fluent in the use of common project management software, such as Microsoft Project. Modern and alternate methods are welcomed to improve the efficiency of the team and the visibility of progress and issues
Sufficient technical knowledge in order to understand scope of change impacts at a technical level leading to cost, schedule and resource changes
Excellent communication skills
Experiencing managing or leading teams in a formal development environment
Knowledge and experience within highly regulated fields such as aerospace, transportation, nuclear or medical is an asset
The ability to lead under pressure while maintaining a collaborative approach.
Ability to work independently in a demanding environment.
Understanding of aerospace regulations and industry-specific nuances.
Cross-functional management & influencing skills
Multitasker with a "can-do" or "make it happen" attitude
Exceptional problem-solving abilities.

Additional Considerations:

Domestic and International travel may be required based on the project assignments
This position is full-time/on-site
