    Students will be required to cover all travel expenses to and from the location of work.

    Duties

    General laborer duties based on daily operational requirements for example: garbage collection, janitorial duties, and grounds/building/equipment maintenance. Must complete the following tasks: mow lawns, paint decks/tables/benches and interior/exterior walls, plant/weed/water flower and shrub beds, maintain walkways, and assist other Asset personnel in the performance of their duties. Required to use electric or motorized equipment such as tractors, grass string trimmers, shears, lawn mowers, drills, carpentry saws and other tools to complete daily tasks. Also may be requested to complete other related duties.

    Training will be provided as required.

    Tour a landscape of weeping willows, flower bushes and orchard trees to view a statue of Evangeline, Longfellows famous heroine. Marvel at the vibrant stained glass of a Memorial Church. Sit inside the hull of a Deportation Ship and uncover, through a multimedia presentation, the depth of this tragic tale. Appreciate a reconstructed dyke and aboiteau and understand how the Acadians reclaimed the salt marshes. See history illuminated through unearthed artefacts.     Intent of the process

    The intent of this process is to hire students for the summer at the Grand-Pré National Historic Site (Nova Scotia).

    In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

    EDUCATION:

    Please confirm that you meet these eligibility factors:
    - registered as a full time or part-time secondary or post secondary student in an accredited academic program; or
    - participating in adult education and retraining programs at the secondary level, operated under the authority of an accredited academic institution.

    EXPERIENCE:

    - Experience working in a team environment;
    - Experience working with the public;
    - Experience working on trails, gardens, grounds keeping, roads or solid waste management.

    ABILITIES AND SKILLS:

    ORGANIZATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    - Willingness to work irregular hours, overtime, weekends and/or statutory holidays and provincial/ territorial holidays;
    - Willingness to work in variable weather conditions;
    - Willingness to wear a Parks Canada uniform and prescribed protective equipment;
    - Possession of a valid First Aid and CPR certification;
    - Possession of a valid Driver's license.

    Conditions of employment

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
