- In coordination with other crew members the Development Leader follows job procedures and regulations and will perform one or more of the following tasks during demolition, rehab, construction within an existing Transfer Station and conveyor installation in the Conveyor Ramp:
- Receive instructions from Shift Supervisor to coordinate day to day ground control requirements
- Track advances and communicate to Shift Supervisor footages and volumes on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
- Inspect existing underground heading to ensure the workplace is safe and assigned tasks can be executed safely and to design specifications
- Use scaling bars, pneumatic hand-held drills, cutting and welding equipment, rubber tired underground mobile equipment such as MacLean Bolters, Scoops, Dump Trucks, Jumbo and shotcrete sprayers
- Install rock bolts, spin cables & screen using Maclean Bolter and handheld drills
- Muck
- Install services and vent
- Other such duties as may be assigned
- Ensure full understanding and compliance with company policies and work in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and other local regulatory requirements
- Have the authority and responsibility to maintain a safe and efficient working environment
- Fully supports and actively participates in the team safety program based on culture and innovation
- Ensure that any equipment deemed damaged or unsafe by virtue of a defect, or a machine of which any protection system is inoperative, is not used and communicated to the supervisor
- Work closely with other crew members to create and maintain a synergy required to accomplish the shift line-up in the cycle
- Ensure applicable procedures and work standards for all tasks are understood, adhered to and complied at all times for all such work
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in the workplace
- Utilize all safety systems as specified within the site safety management system
- Pre-employment drug, alcohol and medical testing
- Criminal Record Check (if applicable)
- Full Basic Underground Common Core
- Minimum 3 years related work experience
- CWB Certification considered an asset
