    Objective:

    The Project Coordinator is responsible for providing project administration and estimating support. This positionwill report directly to the Project Manager.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Review engineering drawings, blueprints, and project specifications;
  • Generate and approve purchase orders to meet time sensitive deadlines;
  • Analysis of vendor bids;
  • Perform cost comparison analysis, as requested;
  • Prepare time, cost and labor estimates for projects;
  • Coordinate price adjustments and design change cost variances;
  • Receive and process purchase agreements;
  • Review customer change order requests for pricing and processing requirements;
  • Maintain relationships with trade and supply partners;
  • Review and approve invoices in collaboration with Accounting Department;
  • Coordinate job start packages for the field construction team;
  • Track and issue job start information to trade/supply partners;
  • Project Meeting minutes and distribution, as required;
  • Arrange meetings;
  • Maintain accurate distribution lists;
  • Review employees timesheets to ensure that information is properly recorded and authorized;
  • Maintain physical and electronic files and/or organizational systems;
  • Assist in construction scheduling and distribution.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in residential estimating and/or project administration;
  • Hold a post-secondary degree or diploma in engineering, construction management, project management, estimating or related discipline. Relevant alternate experience will be considered;
  • Previous experience with NewStar, is considered a definite asset;
  • Detailed orientated;
  • Previous experience with job task planning, decision making and problem solving;
  • Able to work with all levels of employees from senior management to subcontractors;
  • Ability to work in a team, and maintain quality service;
  • Analytical mindset;
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal);
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities;
  • Proficient with Microsoft office (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Working Conditions:

    Traditional core office hours are Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Work may require occasional weekends and/or evenings. Periodic travel to sites (abroad) may be required.
