    Description

    Building Maintenance Technician/Building Operator

    What are we looking for?

    We have an immediate opening for a dedicated Building Maintenance Technician. The successful candidate will be responsible for general maintenance in this commercial building which includes plumbing, minor repairs and HVAC maintenance as well as any other duties assigned by the Facilities Manager. We're looking for a professional who can take the initiative and help anticipate problems before they occur. The ideal candidate will be able to communicate effectively with tenants, visitors and anyone else he or she encounters on the job.

    Specific Duties Include:

    • Evaluate, repair and maintain plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems in the building
    • Communicate with facilities management about any work that requires outside expert assistance
    • Receive and respond to tenant reports of mechanical or maintenance issues on their premises
    • Work with tools and supplies necessary to complete projects
    • Maintain corporate safety procedures at all times and comply with access control regulations
    • Conference room setup
    • Maintain fire, carbon monoxide, smoke and other safety systems within the structure

    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma/GED required
    • 3+ years' building maintenance experience
    • Willingness to inspect and evaluate all mechanical aspects of the building
    • Must have the ability to climb heights, lift up to 60 lbs. and climb onto ladders
    • BES (Building Environmental Systems) a strong asset
    • Ability to work weekends
