- Provide corporate and commercial legal support to Enbridge's renewable power business, which includes the development, construction, acquisition, and operation of solar and wind projects in North America and Europe. More specifically:
- Provide legal advice and support with structuring, drafting, reviewing, negotiating and interpreting contracts related to mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and joint ventures in the Power business unit.
- When necessary, assist with due diligence in connection with M&A transactions and business development projects.
- Provide legal advice and draft and review other commercial agreements and documents related to the business and operations of the Power business unit.
- Provide legal support to other internal Enbridge departments, such as the Credit department.
- Instruct and collaborate with external counsel as required to ensure that they are providing services in an effective and cost-efficient manner in accordance with Enbridge's Outside Counsel Billing and Staffing Guidelines and manage legal matter budgets.
- Uphold Enbridge's core values of Safety, Integrity, Respect, and Inclusion along with our ways of working.
- Law Degree from an accredited Canadian law school or a Certificate of Qualification from the National Committee on Accreditation.
- Active member in good standing of the Law Society of Alberta.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of corporate and commercial transactional experience either in-house or at a law firm.
- Highly developed ability to identify and respond to legal commercial business issues on short notice, and under strict time constraints.
- Ability to work independently, make decisions and meet multiple deadlines in a dynamic work environment, under tight deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively (cooperative yet persuasive approach) with all levels in the organization.
- Excellent organizational, project management and facilitation skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail, but pragmatic in approach.
- Broad understanding of the North American energy industry; knowledge and experience in the renewable power industry is considered an asset.
- High demand, fast-paced office environment, with flexibility to work from home certain days of the week.
- Ability to travel (less than 10%) to offices of the Enbridge organization or counterparty locations, including internationally as required.
- This position requires an ability to handle a high workload and provide legal advice and support on short timelines.
