    Windsor ONPosition: Long Term ContractTitle: Powertrain Controls Engineer - IntermediateDescription:The role of the Powertrain Controls Engineer - Intermediate involves developing new features and improving existing algorithms.

    The individual will collaborate closely with a diverse team, utilizing various tools (vehicle, HIL, Dyno, Virtual, rapid prototyping) throughout the V-model development process to ensure the quality and robustness of production algorithms.


    Responsibilities
    • Work with various stakeholders to comprehend requirements fully
    • Develop and deploy high voltage energy management strategies
    • Evaluate and document control algorithms in alignment with regulatory standards
    • Analyze models to guarantee that the design meets operational needs
    • Validate control algorithms in the production phase
    • Ensure project progress through planning, tracking, and presenting technical reports to management
    • Participate in decisions concerning control strategy design
    Requirements
    • Experience in control algorithm development
    • Proficiency in simulating dynamic systems using MATLAB/Simulink or similar tools
    • Knowledge of electrified powertrain systems and high voltage battery systems
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with global remote teams

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Understanding of classic control theory
    • Familiarity with optimization theory and optimal control
    • Excellent interpersonal and problems-solving abilities
    • Passion for work and a proactive attitude
    • Self-motivated with cross-functional collaboration skills
    • Willingness to travel to the US for in-person meetings (up to 2 times per month)

    Education: Masters or equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field from an accredited university with 3-5 years of relevant engineering experience.

    Alternatively, a PhD in the mentioned fields with demonstrable industry-focused research experience is necessary.
