- Develop and/or support timelines and oversee project progress to ensure goals are achieved in a timely manner. This may include supporting timely permit applications to B.C. regulatory authorities.
- Support B.C. Conservation staff by stewarding legal review of agreements with conservation project funders and contractors and the subsequent agreement signing process.
- Maintain and support external funding partnerships by preparing funding proposals, providing financial data to support funding reports, and supporting B.C. Conservation staff by providing scheduling and tracking functions to ensure reports are accurate and on time.
- Monitor contracts and agreements for compliance and work with DUC's legal department where needed.
- Analyze revenues and expenditures on multiple projects and track against conservation funding agreements.
- In collaboration with the B.C. Head of Finance, ensure the timely accurate and effective entry of information in the financial and land management systems.
- Perform year-end procedures and assist with year-end external audits as needed.
- Oversee financial processes such as purchase orders and processing payables.
- College diploma in project management, accounting, data management or similar field.
- At least 10 years of related work experience in project coordination/management and/or financial management/accounting.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong communications skills including both verbal and written communications.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office tools.
- Team player with a collaborative mind-set.
- Ability to work with a variety of technical specialists.
- Experience working for a non-profit organization.
- Experience supporting wildlife habitat projects.
- Experience supporting agricultural operations.
- 3 weeks' vacation with an additional 5 paid personal days

What You Will Do
DUC is seeking a highly organized personable individual to support our busy team of biologists and engineers. Reporting to our Head of Finance, you will play a key role in ensuring that our conservation program stays on track by regularly providing financial data and project management support to our conservation delivery team. You are an energetic, organized, highly personable individual, and you want to put your talents to work for wetland conservation in B.C.
