    Description

    Who We Are:

    We're on a mission to make it easy and accessible for any company in the insurance, legal and medical space to understand medical records quickly using AI. Every week, we process millions of pages of medical records, saving our customers hours and hours of manual processing time, and helping them process medical claims much more quickly. We're scaling rapidly, having seen over 3x growth in the past 12 months and we're looking for our next key hire to join our growing team.

    About the role:

    Reporting to the CFO, the Finance Administrator / Bookkeeper is responsible for the day-to-day financial and accounting administrative processes for Wisedocs. You will be responsible for both accounts payable and receivable along with payroll, monthly bookkeeping and reconciliation tasks. The ideal candidate functions with an exceptional level of accuracy, confidentiality, judgement and efficiency.

    The position is a hybrid model with primarily remote work, while requiring on-site presence at least twice a month in Downtown Toronto.

    Responsibilities:

    • Coordinates the day-to-day financial operations for the Company
    • Reviews, prepares and processes accounts payable and receivable transactions
    • Provides necessary financial information, and recommendations
    • Develops and maintains a variety of financial reports on an on-going basis
    • Assists in the preparation and development of budget proposals and models
    • Monitors account activity and ensures the accuracy and validity of all account transactions, in keeping with generally accepted accounting practice.
    • Supports the implementation of new financial systems/tools and budget processes.
    • Responds to queries from internal staff and external stakeholders regarding financial issues.
    • Reconciles procurement card transactions online monthly, including allocation of credit card transactions to appropriate accounts.
    • Administers the compensation of Company employees liaising with external payroll companies as appropriate.
    • Assists Program Directors and Supervisors with financial monitoring
    • Manages expense accounts, time sheets, travel, vacation schedules and budgets.
    • Supports booking of business trip (flights, hotel and transport, etc);
    • Supports purchases, invoices and expenses
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications:

    • University degree or three-year post-secondary degree in business administration, finance, accounting or other relevant field.
    • 2+ years of experience in accounting/financial management and administrative experience in an organizationally relevant environment.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of standard accounting practices, proven budget management skills, account administration experience, and demonstrated bookkeeping competency.
    • A financial or accounting designation is considered an asset.
    • Exceptional level of accuracy and confidentiality
    • High attention to details and highly organized
