    Human Resources Manager

    We are currently looking for a full-time Human Resources Manager to support the Aurora printing plant, located at 275 Wellington Street East, Aurora, Ontario. Reporting to the General Manager, the Human Resources Manager will provide strategic leadership and coaching for an employee population of 550 salaried and hourly staff. This hands-on Manager will guide a team of four HR professionals, with an emphasis on partnering with local operations and corporate HR to accomplish strategic and commercial objectives for the business.

  • Provide HR leadership focused on recruiting, retaining, and developing top-caliber talent for the business.
  • Coach and educate managers on conflict resolution, performance management, effective communication & teamwork.
  • Develop an innovative approach to employee relations with the goal of maintaining trusted relationships with leaders and employees and supporting issue resolution.
  • Continuously raise the bar through functional process improvements and other valued added initiatives in support of plant success.
  • Support a team of HR professionals on technical and strategic people matters while continuing to develop the teams' skills through targeted coaching and mentoring in support of employee development and growth.
  • Develop strong partnerships and act as a trusted advisor with Operations leaders, HR team and other support functions at the plants.
  • Guide the organization through cultural changes necessary to support total employee participation in an environment of continuous improvement.
  • Be the liaison with Sector and Corporate HR to ensure two-way communication so that the unit is following and applying all corporate policies and processes as required and so that the Sector and Corporate understand the unique challenges, environment and legislation surrounding the business unit.

  • Post-Secondary education in Human Resources
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar position
  • Demonstrated success working in a multi-faceted manufacturing environment driving alignment and high-performance teams
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving skills, and conflict management skills.
  • Proven success managing and developing a HR team.
  • Strong knowledge of labor law and best practices in human resources
  • CPHR designation (an asset)
  • Knowledge of the Printing Industry an asset but not required
