    Description

    We are a dynamic company looking for our next great hire to join our Research & Development center in Carlsbad, CA.

    The right candidate will be working directly with our semantic search technology used by world renowned publishers around the globe. Our challenges include leveraging the emerging Semantic Web to deliver the best search results, select the most relevant adverts and to improve natural language understanding. Last but not least, our platform must remain scalable and highly available.

    Qualifications:

    Expert in Java programming, including Generics and multi-threading

    · * Experience in designing REST APIs ( XML)

    · * Experience in XML processing (XML, XPath, XSD, parsers)

    · * Experience in scalable architectures and high-throughput application design

    · * Experience in web application development (JSP, Apache Tomcat)

    · * Experience in database interface (JPA, Hibernate, JDBC)

    · * Comfortable writing cross-platform applications (Windows/Linux)

    The following experience is a plus:

    · * Natural Language Processing (ontology, machine learning, related statistics)

    · * Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, Hadoop, Hive)

    · * Semantic web technologies (OWL, RDF, microformats, microdata, triple stores, SPARQL)

    · * C/C++ and STL

    · * Spring framework

    · * Ant

    The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and demonstrate the ability to identify and exploit recent research in order to solve the problem at hand. Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) and the ability to handle all aspects of the software life cycle are essential to our small team.
